Report – Newcastle Interested In Promising Ghanaian Youngster

Newcastle have been linked with a fair few promising youngsters of late. PSG defender Tanguy Kouassi and Penarol attacker Facundo Pellistri are two of the future stars Newcastle are reportedly making late pushes for.

Both teenagers are being tracked by some top clubs, and either would be an outstanding addition this summer.

Another in-demand youngster that Newcastle have been linked with is FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Like Pellistri, Kudus has just one year remaining on his contract, and he’s not likely to resign with the Danish club.

According to France Football, Newcastle and Everton are interested in the 19-year-old.

Kudus (pictured above) has already made two appearances for the full Ghana team and even scored on his debut in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier this past November.

He joined Nordsjaelland from Ghana’s Right To Dream Academy two summers ago. This season has seen Kudus’s stock rise with his performances in Denmark.

He’s scored 9 goals in his 19 appearances in the Superligaen splitting his time between the midfield and striker. Olympique Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, and Fenerbahce are all said to be after Kudus.

However, his agent, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, wants the youngster to land where he will be able to get time on the pitch. Though she says he will definitely be leaving this summer.

Ghana Web has published the following comments from Kudus’s agent:

“Many European clubs are in discussions at the moment, but we are not in contact with OM. There are very large teams and intermediate clubs, and Mohammed’s choice will be to join a team where he will have playing time, but he will be spoiled for choice.

“What is certain is that he will leave Denmark this summer. Obviously, clubs like Salzburg and Leipzig can be on the spot, but also English, Spanish, and Italians. We also have Ligue 1 clubs, but not those that have been mentioned recently.”

With just one year remaining on his contract, Kudus won’t cost too much to bring in. He seems to have a promising future, but there’s little chance he’ll get into Newcastle’s first team next season.

However, he could be a decent signing for the Academy if he’s willing to be patient. If we are genuinely interested, we’re sure Christian Atsu will tell him all about Newcastle.

I’m watching Strawberry Place /SJP closely , apart from a wee bit of polis activity
    nothing.
I would think if there were people of interest on the Gulfstream they would be in
NUFC accommodation somewhere , as hotels are shut for now.

    Stan,
The Sun is similar to The Express, as someone said yesterday; use that to wipe your backside and you get more crap off it than you put on it.

FWIW, my view on last 24hrs:

Yesterday, there was a phone call between,PL and buyers (remember the stories about a “booked” conference call) – during this call The PL told buyers all’s OK, but need to finalise and sign off some paperwork.

SA, not appreciating how slowly we sometimes move in the U.K., told their official broadcast Company, who ran the story last night. – SA Twitter, “lights up” overnight and causes a few U.K. journalists to pour cold water on reports.

Importantly, George Caulkin, states very clearly and concisely that the deal is not approved “officially” – ie it is approved, verbally.

The buyers can’t say or do anything here until MA has his money and that can’t happen until they have the PL paperwork in their possession.

So, as everyone is saying, it’s imminent, which means it’s done but NOT Officially, so now we wait a little while longer, I know it’s agony, but I can almost taste the freedom, the ambition and the success that will soon follow………

Takeover aside does Bruce have the players on track for Project Restart and game week 30?

I’ve seen many articles and posts about ManUtd players. Chelsea players, Spurs players and so on taking training and what their big name players were doing during the lull.

Maybe I’ve missed it in all the takeover stories. There was the article about Shelvey saying he is in the best shape of his career. Hope that is true and consistent for all our players coming back into training and Bruce’s staff has had regimens in place for the players to follow and report on since things stopped in March.

Hitting the ground running and getting a couple wins early when play resumes will be key to reducing pressure the looming takeover will have.

Imagine is we lose the first 3 or 4 matches, the pressure and the anxiety will be immense.

Of course it would only be too representative of the Ashley years to have him sell the club and see us relegated right after. The sports media would love it and claim that all us NUFC fans deserve it.

On the plane thing, the stopover in Stanstead could have been to pick up Reubens team, I would expect Staveley team to drive up from North Yorkshire. That’s if it has any significance!!

    toilet mouth busy again

Brendan Rodgers has hit back at suggestions from Richard Keys that he “plotted” to force Steven Gerrard out of Liverpool. The Leicester boss worked with Gerrard at Anfield during his spell as Liverpool manager eventually overseeing the former Reds captain’s departure to LA Galaxy.Gerrard jetted off for his swansong in the States, but Keys still felt Rodgers had used underhanded tactics to get shot of the midfielder.

We should have won that match against Inter, Shearer and Bellamy were fouled so many times in strong positions without as much as a FK given to them.

Watching Shearer in a full match last night it was obvious what made him soo crazy good. His positioning was unreal he was always in the right spot even when he looked miles away from play 5 seconds later hed be in the pocket, he used it as a tactic to avoid getting marked.

His intuition about where the ball would end up was always amazing, hed be in weird positions and I’d be saying to the tv get in the box, yet somehow it turned out he was always in a better position where he was once the play had transpired.

Finally his movement was off the scale, he was always able to shake off defenders or drag defenders away from other players to enable them to take the shot.

Positioning/Movement/intuition that was Shearer out and out.

More Premier League players will quit training after conversations with managers, says Jamie Redknapp.

“If you’ve got a squad of 22, 23 players and six or seven are not comfortable, they think they’re putting their families at risk, how is that a fair competition?”

JP I noticed that as they were panning by the players, I just shook my head as they pammed by 3 of our worst players in a row all standing together. They weren’t even championship quality yet here they were in the champions league. That was a very decent team, I thought the EXACT same thing myself image they had 3 proper defenders.
