Report – There Are Still No Red Flags With Newcastle Takeover

Despite a report today from The Times claiming that some Premier League clubs have raised concerns over Newcastle’s takeover, local journalists are still upbeat that everything is on track.

The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder is maintaining that there still has not been any red flags raised with the buyers. He also claims that sources in the Middle East have expressed confidence that this takeover will be approved.

This is what Lee Ryder writes in his report:

Chronicle Live understands that the thorough examination of the takeover approach by Amanda Staveley, the Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is now in the final stages and there have been no hiccups.

The good news for United fans is that the process remains on course for the Magpies to have a new owner and there have been no red flags – despite talk of fresh opposition from other top-flight clubs and further complaints about the deal.

Mike Ashley, as one would expect, has refused to comment, but Steve Bruce was asked about the situation during a Sky Sports interview.

While Bruce didn’t say he had any direct knowledge, he certainly sounded like someone who thought a change in ownership was imminent.

The Chronicle has verified that Bruce and the players are still ‘in the dark’ as they await confirmation like the rest of us.

It’s because Forbes have their main offices on Baker island in the South Pacific and they’re a whopping great 12 hours behind us.

Lockdown + takeover rumours really hasn’t been a healthy combination for most here has it. Seems like everyone’s completely lost the plot.

Everyone hates NUFC and you can’t trust a word they say, unless they tell you some Saudi’s got off a plane, in which case there’s an imminent announcement :D.

    Sherlock,
That’s the trouble with these news agencies like news now and Reuters etc. All it takes is one outlet to falsely put on a story and they all jump on it, seemingly without any verification.

Yes loved it for it’s depiction of the story.. Bit pissed at it showing he only has one son though. I’ve heard there is another season scheduled.

    Hal,
    Aghh, spoiler 😮
Aye, in the books there was definitely two sons and the second was called Uthred because he took the name off the first one for being a priest/monk/holy person. The reason I asked is I couldn’t remember if Beocca got killed at Bebanburgh. I can’t remember it in the book.

    Hal,
I think they’ll finish the series when he takes Bebanburg which, imo Cornwell should have done as well. I know they’re money spinners for him but anything he comes out with would be a big hit.

So yet another imminent announcement day passes but good news! There is no bad news!

Not one of these items and respected journalists knows anything. And why should they? A professionally arranged purchase of this size would be fine with the utmost discretion our of respect for either side. There would be no tea boys listening with their ear to the door, no accountants mate who told the doorman such and such a thing, no employees told not to bother doing that job because the new owners will take care of it.

The best they can know is what we all know. PCP lodged a deposit who knows why but likely because they are crunching numbers behind the scenes.

When and if this comes out I certainly won’t be rushing to credit any ITK because I know they will have been lying their sad little attention seeking needy little butts off. 🙂

Just has some lively kipper fillets in butter for tea. Had to hide the smell as the missus can’t handle the smell of fish!
Things to remember and respect when this goes through.
    1. They are buying us mainly because of our insanely loyal fan base and unrivalled city centre location.
    2. We have had 52k hollowed out souls turning up at SJP despite the worst ownership in our history and having won diddly squat for over 50 years! We are the Boston Red Sox, and they managed it in the end! No other club would show this unconditional loyalty.
    3. There must be at least 15k who have jacked it in during Ashley’s tenure, if not more. I was one but relented after a year. I respect every one of them and they will have played their part in persuading Ashley that the time to sell was now. I hope there is a way for these people to get tickets in our new era.

By god we are going to enjoy this and be happy!
