Newcastle Reported To Be In Driver’s Seat To Sign Former PSG Sporting Director

There’s a report in le10Sport today that Newcastle want to sign former PSG man Antero Henrique as our new Sporting Director.

The Premier League are expected to announce this week that they have approved the takeover of Newcastle for £300M by a consortium led by Ripon-born financier Amanda Staveley.

But that’s also been the news for the last three Mondays.

Henrique is a talented man, and he would be an excellent signing for Newcastle.

Amanda Staveley is now attempting to complete the signing of the key people who will lead the club forward to bigger and better things after Mike Ashley finally leaves the club.

New life can now be breathed into our famous club.

Manchester United have also been trying to sign the Portuguese man, but Newcastle are reported to be in the driver’s seat for Henrique.

Here is a portion of the le10Sport’s report translated from the French:

“Since leaving PSG, Antero Henrique has continued to play a role in the transfer market.

Last winter, the Portuguese technician notably completed the signing of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United, one of the biggest hits of January.

Newcastle are thinking of Antero Henrique for the position of sports director of the future project.

Besides Newcastle, Manchester United is also interested in Antero Henrique, who already collaborates with the English club.

But the hottest track remains that of Newcastle. Also mentioned, Luis Campos was indeed approached by the Magpies.

But the Portuguese still officiates on the LOSC side, despite rumors of departure.”

Henqieue is the man who brokered the deal to take Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United last year.

Antero Henrique looks a good choice from reading articles about him. However, Marsielle have been linked with him and they need a DOF.

DofF and manager are the most important decisions the new owners will make. Important that these 2 can work well together and trust one another. As long as those boxes are ticked and both are clearly competent and really want to come to us then don’t care who they are. Just make good recruitment decisions following in depth interviews.

    @GP re Talksport

They are regurgitating that interview done by the BBC reporter with Masters.

Loaded question which the reporter knew Masters couldn’t answer due to confidentiality.

Personally think Masters did well in avoiding answering. Wish he’d get his finger out his ass and sign the paper though. Let us poor fans hear the official announcement.

Let’s not think we can’t compete with the French Riviera and Marseille. Take them up in a small plane up the Northumbrian coast to Berwick and back over Rothbury. No contest!

    I’ve had an epiphany!!

    Rafa or Poch?

Both have distinct pros and cons but we’re about to be in a position where we don’t have to pick and choose so the obvious answer is:

    Rafa AND Poch!!

I’ve convinced myself this is what is happening from the Ossie Ardiles “interview”. Now he has denied talking to the mirror but didn’t deny the quotes and his words were “some top class people offered him the job”.

Which top class people is he referring too? Mandy? He can’t know anything about her yet, the Saudis? I don’t think they will be that hands on yet. So who offered Poch the job?

    Rafa did!!

He’s already agreed to be Director of Football and is appointing Poch as Head Coach.

    Case cracked!! Cans cracked!!

“Violently anti-working class” – the guardian and independent newspapers. Lol. I swear to God the Viz satirists are behind half the posts on here.

Remember when the independent came with a free knuckle duster and a list of known working-class hotspots? Ahhh them were the days….

My suggestion for DOF and manager would be

    Pablo Longoria – DOF

    Max Allegri – manager

Worked together at Juve – therefore should have a good familiarity with each other.

If Rafa really is looking at Ross Barkley as his first signing you have your answer.

I do t give a flying duck what the papers are saying, the only people who know anything are those directly involved, and nobody is talking.
I believe its done and we are just awaiting the announcement, but other than that, people may have been sounded out , but the people who are sounded out are trustworthy and will not go blabbing to a rag, least of all the Sun , telegraph , mirror etc, maybe someone at the times or guardian know something but have the honour not to repeat it until told its ok to do so……personally, i think the story will break from either Caulkin or Winters , then it will be delivered across all the major news streams as exclusive

    WLtoon,

“Someone” well that says it all. No doubt “someone” knows what is going on.

Simon, Rafa and Poch wuldnt work – or i dont think so. Too different football philosophies, and both want to coach/manage in their own way.
