Newcastle Defeat Middlesbrough In Friendly As They Rev Up For Sheffield United

Newcastle played their first friendly since they returned to training last month. The lads stormed back from 2 goals down to beat Middlesbrough 3-2 at the Newcastle United Training Centre.

First off the mark for the Magpies was forgotten man Yoshinori Muto who scored a lovely goal as he drove at the defenders before slotting the ball past the keeper from just inside the box.

Then it was Miguel Almiron who leveled the score as he adeptly beat the offside trap and poked the ball past the charging keeper.

Finally, it was a winner from Joelinton, who also scored in the intrasquad match last week. The Brazilian fumbled the throw-in but was quick to pounce on the loose ball and put it away.

Newcastle are slowly revving up as they prepare for the season’s return against Sheffield United on Sunday, June 21st. It’s nice to see three forwards get on the scoresheet as their performances will be key to how the rest of this season goes.

Been at work today so dont know if it’s already been mentioned on here, also I have no idea if its accurate ….But Twitter is stating Ashley is allegedly making a statement to the press at 1030 pm tonight.

    Dont shoot the messenger…

Some have suggested it might be to do with retail not football.

Some on Twitter are now stating this ‘Tweet’ is not from a trustworthy ‘Birdie’ (strewth)

    This is it….

Press have been notified that Mike Ashley will be releasing a statement tonight. Embargo until the 22.30 back pages are released… #NUFCTakeover

Makes two of us, my nephew has just spoke to me as well stating he had heard at work about some announcement tomorrow.

Nobody knows yet when you hear/read something you go into ‘auto-mode’ and share or at least you have 10 mins feeling hopeful.

Then back to reality eh !

    WL,

They’ll be in the same league as Plymouth Argyle next season so I might head up that way to watch as Plynouth’s not far from me. Would love to see the local lads beat them!

    OP

I had the same issue. Just says “media won’t load”. I’m assuming it’s not a copyright issue, as I would think the club would be permitted to show the footage from friendlies.

I managed to watch the highlights @5 and it was a typical training session type kick about. Nothing to be taken from that at all.

Anybody having issues with the media, load them on Twitter (click the timestamp). They don’t seem to like playing embedded media these days for some reason.

    WL,

Yep, in the south west. Have you ever been down this way? I have to say it’s a lovely little corner of the world where I am, sandy beaches one way and moors and woodlands the other.

Cheers for the tip Thump. It’s probably a conscious effort by twitter to get more traffic through the actual site then I’d guess.

This is part of a report from NewsNow… Has anyone seen it?… Does anyone believe it?

Philippe Coutinho is barely a Bayern Munich player at this point, but there are plenty of people in our audience interested in where he ends up next, so here’s a juicy new transfer rumor for you lot. According to France Football, the Barcelona reject is eyeing a move to the Premier League this summer. Coutinho would prefer to go back to Liverpool, but his camp have already begun negotiations with Newcastle United

There are some beatuful spots around. Most of my favories are around the moors (Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor) or out on the coast, but it really depends on what your interests are. There are some great spots for surfing, hiking and cycling that are off the beaten track, but if you’re more into the night life you might want to head for somewhere like Newquay or Exeter.

Or if you want to truly indulge in the world of the weird and wonderful parts of the south west, try visiting the town of Totnes (which according to the town council is officially twinned with Narnia…) or a little village called East Prawle out on the coast.

Totnes is a very unique little town, basically all independent shops and it even has its own currency.

East Prawle is right off the beaten track but the pub there is run by a family with incredible connections in the music industry so there’s always great music and interesting people around.
