It’s now less than two weeks until Newcastle will return to action in the Premier League.
At that time we play Sheffield United at home and we have two games a week to finish off the season, so it will be a hectic time for all teams.
On 28th June we are at home to Manchester City in the 6th round of the FA Cup and let’s hope we can advance in that game.
Currently, we are in a reasonable position in the league table – 8 points clear of relegation with 9 games to play, so we are not mathematically safe yet on 35 points.
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce
[table “84” not found /]All of the games will be televised live as the Premier League attempts to finish the season and get the broadcast revenue for the remaining games.
That will help the PL clubs financially who have struggled over the last three months of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here are the remaining games of the season.
[table “88” not found /]It would be nice to start the games with two wins at home to the Blades and Aston Villa which would make us safe from relegation.
Comments welcome.

Positive outcome next week!!

From previous,
You said it was Cengiz’s lawyer who leaked this document. Are we really to believe that this lawyer would risk legal action from the PL for leaking a document that contained information subject to an nda? Masters would not legally be permitted to release this to the lawyer any more than he would to me and you, and I would be pretty sure the lawyer would lose their job if they were found to be guilty of breaking an nda.

Comment #10My take on the UK piracy using Kodi, IPTV or an app on their phone, it is impossile to stop, the use of vpn means it is impossible to trace who is watching what, but, i understand the logic behind paying for an iptv service as we cannot watch premier league /or any other football match in this land at 3pm on a SATURDAY, people like me cannot watch away games (i go to home games so they are irrelevant) whereas,if there was an option of purchasing an away supporters ticket to legally stream the toon games , i would buy one (depending on cost ) .
Ithink ,, in the not too distant future, this option may become a reality as the grounds become more safe, and only a certai amount of fans are allowed into the grounds…..maybe as early as next season/the season after when the new tv deal is up

a toon season ticket to stream the games would work, i have no doubt the games would still be a sell out, but people who cannot get to the games could watch every game from their armchairs, people whocannot get tickets for away games would be able to watch every game instead of missing out.
hopefully this will be brought in either for next season or the season after when there are less fans allowed into the grounds due to social distancing

Comment #17Martoon/Geordiebill, I would happily pay for a “season ticket” to SKY to just watch our games, I think that’s a great idea.
My total sports package @SKY used to cost me £23/month because I have SKYQ + full entertainment package + HD and multiroom with mini box etc. + broadband.
Since I pulled out, they want me back for £20/month, which is actually not a bad price for all sports channels on their output, but I’d prefer a deal offering NUFC games. The problem is other sports, I watch International cricket, F1 and Golf majors + Ryder Cup. When it’s all up and running, £20 is a very good deal for this lot, and I can’t see how they would separate the “package” to accommodate individual “season tickets” for the football.

Comment #27What a surprise, despite several clubs changing hands over the last fifteen years, BSIB blames everyone bar Ashley for his failure to sell. The reason we’re so close to being sold now imo, is because he’s not in a position to change the goalposts anymore.

You are sticking your head in the sand;
Masters reply clearly stated “I assure you and your client that her representations are being fully considered in our process.”
Our process = the involvement of PIF in the NUFC takeover.
What part of that don’t you get or accept?
Plus…
Any NDA between the consortium and NUFC has absolutely nothing to do with the PL + Masters reply was released to the PL by Cengiz’s lawyer.
Do you really believe Masters would bother to reply to every single spurious complaint about any potential takeover with “if there was a takeover and it involved what you are complaining about we would look at it”.
Get real, absolutely no way would he or any serious organisation waste time on that nonsense.
My last post to you on the subject – you obviously have an agenda which defies logic and common sense.

That’s very interesting if true. I wouldn’t have thought Kashoggi would have been all that wealthy as a journalist, so Cengiz would likely not be wealthy either and somebody else would have to be picking up the costs. There are quite a few candidates. I would guess either somebody in the US or Qatar, maybe Israel or maybe a rival Saudi interest. There would be a lot of candidates.

Comment #31Tom, do you really think this virus will go?
I think its here to stay, once there is a vaccine it wont be as bad but it will still be here, and if not this virus, then another like it,i believe the social distancing could be here for a good few years….so we may yet see our team on the box every game as the norm, afterall, It is the premier league and FA who are blocking the broadcasts on a Saturday afternoon (AFAIK) so they have no reason to continue the block now and should be actively encouraging the streaming of the games to keep football relevant so they can get more money in due to more people watching the games ,home and away

Neither the consortium nor Ashley can move the goalposts because a deal has been agreed.
What a daft comment to make in a sad effort to score a point.

Comment #34Is anyone else intrigued by how we might play when the season starts again?
With new owners possibly on the way is Bruce going to properly audition for the role with some attacking football and formations? The players could also relax a bit more without the pressure of playing in front of crowds
Or is it still going to be park the bus so we don’t get relegated football?
On Muto the guy has never really had a chance up front seen him play for Japan a few times before we signed him and he seemed ideal pacy , good movement and intelligent link up play whenever he gets a game for us its either on the wing or in a slightly deeper role? Seems like he should play on the shoulder of opposition centre backs so he can chase onto through balls when teams play a high line

That’s according to a BBC article that claims there is a leaked letter from Cengiz’s lawyer. Do we even know if that letter exists or what it says? Have you seen the actual document?
None of the articles I have read actually presented the original document in question: they all just quote the same couple of words and phrases, with no context. How did all these different journalists get access to this leaked letter? And where was it leaked?
The journalists just claim they saw this letter and that this is what Masters said. If you look at his other replies that are in the public domain (letter to Amnesty and TV interview) you will see he states outright that he will not pass comment on any of this. Why would Masters break the nda and comment on the takeover for Cengiz’s lawyer but not Amnesty or the TV interview? It makes no sense. He would be risking a lawsuit and his job, and so would the lawyer by leaking the document.

If it wasn’t for covid-19 he’d be looking at another season of PL football and haggling for those gawd awful signs to be in place for the next five years, he clearly hasn’t been in a hurry to sell and this season would have been no different if this hadn’t happened. Imo.
