Newcastle Twitter site NUFC 360 has tweeted the following claim from Arena. They are reporting that Newcastle have made an offer to 18-year-old Malaysian prodigy Luqman Hakim.
Malaysian wonderkid Luqman Hakim, listed in the Guardian’s top 60 young footballers of 2019, has received an offer from Newcastle United. #nufc [Arena] pic.twitter.com/luY3yHba3n
— NUFC 360 (@NUFC360) June 18, 2020
As stated above Hakim was one of the Guardian’s top 60 youngsters of 2019. The striker was a standout during the 2019 AFF U-19 Youth Championship in which he scored 4 goals leading Malaysia to the semi-finals.
Last September, he committed to signing a 5-year deal with Belgian first division side K.V. Kortrijk, which is owned by Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan. The deal was set to go through once he turned 18 in March.
However, the coronavirus may have scuppered the move for the time being with the young striker currently playing for the Malaysian club Selangor’s reserve team.
We’re not too sure of the youngster’s current situation with the Belgium club but it looks like a move to Newcastle could be in play.
Hakim is seen as the brightest prospect to come out of Malaysia and could become the heir apparent to the late Mokhtar Dahari, who scored 85 goals for the Malaysian national team in the 1970s and 80s.
Here’s a short YouTube video of the young striker.

Comment #161Lesh my post was not me saying he would announce the takeover but merely the reason why he made the decision to allow it through(assuming it is) as he knows the prem are going to take some flak either way the decision goes.

Comment #162I think the PL might make a decision in the next 48hrs, not an announcement. The PL have never made an announcement about a takeover as long as i can remember.
Jim White is the biggest BSer on the planet. This is the 3rd time he has said something will be announced within 48 hrs.

Comment #165Dog, the app I found is called TV cast (LG) as it’s set up to work with LG tv’s, which mine is. I tried to show a YouTube video on it and it worked perfectly, no issues at all. It was only when I tried to sign up for NOW that it wouldn’t let me.
I’m going to try signing up and getting the NOW mobile account separately, then see if if I can “cast” it. Hopefully that will work.
WL, if this idea fails I’ll have a shawl thru You Tube to see if anything’s there.

Then when I post a link proving my info is correct
he spits the dummy out like a silly petulant child.

Was just questioning if it was sold. Have four guitars myself,
though I’m mostly a harmonica player. Point of interest maybe,
I live about 40 minutes from the Martin factory, though it’s closed
now because of Covid-19.

If you use your TV system only (ignore your skybox/wifi set up/whatever) and tune it using ariel, you should pick up freeview channels and pick will be one of them – usually channel 11 or 92 for +1 version
I have the same problem as you, so I called Freeview and they went through it with me on the phone.
My problem though is location and I cannot reach the better signal for my area with my current arial set up – I need a bigger ariel or thuderpole.
Hopefully you will have more luck with the above

Comment #178Saudi Arabia would be powerless to challenge a rejection by the Premier League of their proposed £300million takeover of Newcastle United , because alleged evidence of broadcasting rights piracy would leave no legal grounds for PIF to sue.

that quote was from someone against the takeover – for balance and clarity i reckon you should have added it in there so people know the side they are on.
“Saudi Arabia would be powerless to challenge a rejection by the Premier League of their proposed £300 million takeover of Newcastle United, opponents of the deal believe,”
That is the actual quote from the article, much more understandable given they state it comes from an opponent of the deal.

Comment #183Just signed up NOW, paid my £5.99 for a months mobile sport. Worked fine on phone. Tried to “cast” it and all that happens is I get a page offering me the more expensive packages, obviously they got this “cheap access” blocked.
So I’ve cancelled my subscription, but I can still watch on my iPhone until 19th July.

You still have the option I suggested, although that will only give you access to the matches that sky put out as free to view ie through Pick TV etc
Got to be better than a mobile phone screen and binoculars

Have you got an iPad? it would be hard to watch a match on an iPhone! If you have an iPad could you view it on that?
I have a Smart TV and a Now TV box and in the main that works ok – If Toon have more than one TV match coming up in a month it could be worth buying a month pass. The prices are in the region of £9 single game £15pw or approx £33 per month. In most cases it’s usually worth only buying a single game but at the moment that may not be the case. 🙂

Ah well if you live on the other side of the pond it’s a no goer when the Martin factory is so close!
The Martin I have is my first Martin – I bought it mainly in remembrance of my late friend Trev R who was a Martin man and had exactly the same instrument but alas it’s not for me!
It’s fair to say that I have been a Taylor man for many years. I’ve moved up from a 310ce to an 810ce but now I’ve got a Taylor Koa 324ce Ltd Edition. It’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned and I’ve had some good ones over the years! I heard a guy supporting Tom Paxton at Whitley Bay Playhouse and his Taylor Koa blew Paxton’s Martin away.
