Steve Bruce has spoken to the media this morning via zoom, the popular video platform.
He has previewed Newcastle’s return to Premier League action on Sunday against Sheffield United.
It will be the first game we have played since we took Southampton apart 1-0, with a late goal from Allan Saint-Maximin at St. Mary’s Stadium back on 7th March.
That put us in 13th place after 29 games played, and Newcastle and the rest of the Premier League clubs are hoping to finish the season by playing two games a week from now on.
Here’s some of what Bruce s(shown above) said today:
“The two Longstaffs are there or thereabouts in terms of availability.”
“We hope after the weekend they could be involved. There’s a doubt about Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle has picked up a knock on his knee so there is one or two niggles.”
“We’ve got ourselves in a decent position and we’ve got nine to go. We’ve got five of the bottom six to play so it’s all to play for.”
“We’ve all experienced how strange it is with the two games on Wednesday without fans.”
“If ever we need reminding that this game of ours belongs to the supporters we just have to tune in. It’s certainly not the same spectacle.”
some appropriate words there from the manager.
Comments welcome.

Having spent the last few weeks saying Staveley and others were wrong to say the announcement was imminent, I am now the other way …

Re Newcastle takeover – despite reports/suggestions over the last 24 hours of a change in the government’s position following Dominic Raab’s comments I understand that is not the case. (And, broadly, govt wants other countries to invest in the country)

Looks like I’m not the only person frantically refreshing Twitter haha!
Not only has Sean Ingle got a solid reputation Rob is correct in that he has been very quiet in all of this apart from the WTO article and his tweets today. He is worth paying attention to.
Unless there has been a monumental error in the paperwork submitted to the PL this is surely going through.
Insh'Allah

Comment #15Just to say, it’s not just the Saudis that kill people in their Embassies… The Qataris try to too.
