Allan Saint-Maximin was signed from Nice last summer for just £16.5M, and he’s already looking like another excellent acquisition for Newcastle.
In yesterday’s game he scored an excellent poacher’s goal, and if he can add more goals to his game – he has scored two goals in the last 2 games – he can become one of the best players in the Premier League.
H was certainly a shining light throughout the game yesterday.
And yes, he’s quite a character too: he had a tough upbringing in Châtenay-Malabry, a suburb of Paris, and he is of Guadeloupean and French Guianese descent.
He also has a heart of gold, and Newcastle fans have quickly taken to the 23-year-old who is a joy to watch when he’s on song – and he was in good voice yesterday.
Steve Bruce today has said he is one of the most naturally gifted players he has ever coached in his long 22 years of football management.
SB on ASM:
“Some of the stuff he does isn’t coachable – it’s just natural ability. Whether he’s dribbling round his dogs or his mates, who knows, but If he keeps improving it’s limitless to what he can achieve. He’s one of the most naturally gifted players I’ve worked with.” pic.twitter.com/xptInjZ2fa

It was an excellent performance from the lads yesterday: a good team effort and now we have to beat a struggling Aston Villa side at home on Wednesday.
