Comment #167KV- yes we did have 60% possesion in the first half. It popped up during the match and I even commented about it. We all saw the same game. Not everyone is going tobhave the same opinion and that’s alright. But you have to admit it was pleasing on the eye compared to some drab football we’ve had to content with for donkey years. Then if you consider the fact that it was our first game back and their second so they had more time to shake the rustiness off AND considering they are 7th in the table it was a great result. If you can’t recognise that I am wasting my time talking to you.

Comment #184I happen to disagree with Kev. This was a big win after a long break- regardless of opposition or circumstances. It also had the feel of a watershed moment for Joe (we’ll see). We played some good stuff before and after the red. Plenty of teams struggle against 10 men.
However – the bitchiness is uncalled for.

Comment #185I’m sure Steve Bruce is now right in the frame to hold onto his job going into next term. He’s shown he’s a good fit as Newcastle manager.
The more important appointment is a top quality Director of football, along with the acquisition of 3 or 4 top notch players.
High calibre additions at defensive midfielder, another to play a little ahead of him, a number 10 and a number 9, along with a top Director of Football to set the template, and Bruce to run the 1st team, would not be a good start under new ownership and certainly would allow us to set our sights firmly on the top 8 and a proper tilt at a domestic Cup.
More concerning though is Andy Carroll’s new beard. If he hasn’t sorted it out by Wednesday night, I’m officially replacing him as my favorite player with either Javier Manquillo or Sean Longstaff until he does. 🙂

I did, I was very cautious beforehand because we normally start a little bit slow and apprehensive. So I said (hands up I was wrong) that I would be happy with a draw.
Apart from the first 5 minutes or so, we dominated the game – hats off to the players and coaching staff. Long may it continue!!
If that’s luck – I’ll take it every week 🙂

Comment #189Yep. There’s nothing better than having a lucky team, but I was the same saying I’d be happy with a draw. But I’m looking forward to Aston Villa now, even though this is Newcastle, and we do everything the hard way.

It’s hilarious mate because I know that I’m from Devon and just happen to spell some words the American way because I see them written that way frequently (in literature, articles, studies and conversations online).

Even from my fantasy world I managed to read the possession stats. Another one who can’t admit they were wrong. Is it any wonder there are so many arguments when people post such blatant nonsense and can’t admit they were wrong even when faced with proof?
