No news is obviously a killer. Can you imagine how devastating it would be if no news was actually all we were going to get and we’re back to Steve Bruce, Training camp in Wales, pre-season Notts County reserves, sale of ASM to Spurs, Joelinton hungry and raring to go for the new season……?

    Just thinking out loud, y’know.

    Hit Man

It would be comprehensively devastating, but entirely predictable after the last 10 years sadly. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be wrong about anything so much.

Jane at #43 you’re 100% right, there absolutely wont be a word about it, if it fails. Ashley wont comment on it, the PL certainly wont comment on it even after the process. And the Saudis most definitely wont comment on it,bthey owe nobody an explanation and I reckon they would actually avoid it because it only serves to highlight their failure.

However there is far too much work that has been done for it to not be going ahead.

    Tackle, JohnR

Schar incident pisses me right off. This is a guy I highly rated and looked class during Rafa era, I even spouted crap like one of the best in the league.

Don’t know what’s happened to him he looks like he doesn’t want to be here

Do we really think if it fails we won’t find anything out? Come on it’s been the one of the biggest news over the last few month and you what think it will float away like a fart in the wind?

If it was to fail I dont think anyone or even a journo would break the news, i think it just fades quietly away.

I fear you may be right mate. There is an ever-growing pile of reasons to think we’ll be seeing business as usual for another season.

If the deal was ever legit and Ashley actually wants to sell, we’ll hear about it eventually as he will want everybody to know that the club is still for sale. I still think that’s a very big “if” though. Does it really take 12 years to sell a premier league football club?

If it was never legit to begin with, we’ll probably never hear about it. That means it’s going to be indefinite holding of breath for many, which as we all know is not good for the ol’ braincells.

    Gothmog @ 61

Thing is for me of those you list the most winnable game for us will be Spurs. They’ll be on the beach already knowing they won’t get a CL spot.

All the winnable matches you show are only on paper – those teams are going to be scrapping for survival. And our players may think our season is over too.

Bruce and Lascelles need to get the players’ heads in it. They need to be up for it and show the new owners (hopefully) that they should be kept on next season. They all have points to prove and yesterday was a poor display. Hopefully they get the team together and ready.

This is what Director Midhat Kidwai of the Bin Zayed Group put out in late May:

“In consideration of the numerous speculations in regards to the timelines of the acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club by Bin Zayed Group, we feel the need to issue this statement.”

“Terms have been agreed between us and Mike Ashley; these terms have been reflected in a document, signed by both parties, which has been forwarded to the Premier League.”

“The proof of funds statement was forwarded to Mike Ashley’s lawyers on 17 April 2019.”

“The so-called fit-and-proper Premier League process is a standard procedure which will take time, and we are doing all we can to assist the Premier League during this process.”

“We feel the need to clarify this point in order for the fans and the general public to understand the timelines.”

Doesnt matter how far it got we still didnt hear a whisper about it. These guys arebt going to want to advertise their failure and Ashley wont ever open his gob because he knows well the longer it goes on the more it drives us crazy.

However the silence atm doesnt bother me in the slightest. I definitely believe it’s done and dusted.

Spurs are definitely beatable at the moment. Not terrible last 2 games but they have been very shaky all season. Do you not think Spurs will want europa league if they miss out on champs league though?

well we will have to agree to disagree because i 1000% think we will BZG didnt want to pay a deposit that they could possibly lose and were insulted by it if what i hear is correct.

So it didn’t get anywhere as close as PIF this is the furthest and closest we have been to a sale.

like you say don’t matter tho we agree on the most important thing and that’s that it’s happening

I have to go with IrishRob on this one. If it all falls through it will be business as usual.

You will only know its gone south by the calibre of players being brought (bargain basement) in and sold (ASM).

Qatar and BeIn wont let the Saudis slither off on the quiet if the takeover is rejected, they will want to advertise it to the world, any win over the other between these 2 countries is propaganda material.

He might well know her a bit but I don’t think anyone’s claiming they’re best friends. She legally wouldn’t be able to tell him anything anyway though, and Ilif she was found to have leaked information from a confidential process she would risk upsetting the PL no end, and jeopardise her chances significantly. I just can’t see why she would tell him anything.
