A light and comical touch at the end of the disappointing defeat last night when Newcastle manager Steve Bruce interrupted Macnsheter City star Kevin de Bryne’s interview on the field to announce what the Newcastle manager called an exclusive.
Kevin is coming to Newcastle this summer – we know that’s true because that’s what Steve said in this exclusive and rather sensational piece of video.

Kevin is one of the best players in the world at the moment – we wish it was true.
But if the takeover goes through we could land one or two players of the caliber of the Belgian International.
Yes!
And the Premier League will have to come off the fence sometime.
And woe betide (long time since I’ve used that saying) if they block the takeover, which will leave Newcastle up the creek without a paddle (there’s another one).
But we wouldn’t put it past the Premier League to screw up Newcastle.
That’s the club up there in the wilderness of the northeast, where the lads go shirtless during the freezing winters.
They are also some of the best sports fans in the world!
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #161I’m scared stiff now that the P.L. will say No.
Why take this long if the man from DelMonte he say yes.
They are either waiting for the buyers to say enough is enough, and walk away.
To me Qatar have had far too much to say in all of this.
Not to mention hairy hands, and every Tom,Dick, and Hairy balls.
Every bloody day we hear of yet another worm crawling out the wood work, with reason’s not to be cheerful
part deux.
I for one couldn’t stand anymore of this owner,or this awful bloody cowardly manager,if it’s a No.
Will the poo hit the fan,or will the sheep still follow.
Oh and is Muto really that bad that he can’t get on before the Linton flyer bus driver.
There is no way on this earth he should have had the number 9 shirt.

Comment #165I think Bruce got it OK up to Gayles clanger. 1-0 down on 60mins most would take that. It gave us a chance, we got the golden opportunity but spurned it. If that goes in most would be praising the tactics. Unfortunately for Brucie that’s where the praise ends.
Why not play Dubravka. I think he saves the 2nd. Who cares if Darlow gets upset, nobody is bothered if he leaves.
5 at the back didn’t work and has never worked. Our wingbacks aren’t good enough for it and it destroys our midfield. With 451 we may have upped the possession slightly and made one or two half chances in the first half.
The subs were awful. Longstaff was miles off the pace but was left on. Carroll was our only decent outlet and was taken off (I’d rather risk the red card in our biggest game of the season). Taking off Almiron and ASM was surrendering.

I’m surprised Muto hasn’t been given more chances. It’s not like we have another in-form striker keeping him out of the side. The refusal to drop Joelinton is the most damning indictment of Bruce’s tenure this season IMO.

No Brendan Rogers then?
I’d love Santo. He’s demonstrated that he can bring teams forward. If he could brimg Ruben Neves with him, all the better, but I think he’ll stay at Wolves. They’re easily the best team in the w midlands currently and looking pretty likely to be playing Europa league next season. I’ve been very impressed with their project there. It should be an inspiration to our club, as we were streets ahead of them a few years ago.

Comment #171@Tinman: I disagree, he absolutely bottled the first half. No service to Andy (who dropped so deep to get involved that Max ended up without any support), no desire to chase the game, just to suffocate City’s attack. By all accounts they should have been 3 up by half time but thankfully their finishing was piss poor. I mean in the 20~ minutes we had made 15 passes to City’s 188.
As for Darlow, I can’t help but think that was him in the shop window with Gillespie coming in. He’s been our cup keeper all season, so one last hurrah for him so we can go forward with Dubs, Woodman, and Gillespie.

Brendan Rogers is an excellent manager. I’d be extremely pleased if he was willing to take us on. Same as Santo. These are the type of managers we should look to. Might be a few on the continent. Thankfully Mourinho took the Spurs job for one of his final paydays. Levi should be sacked for that decision.
