Bruce Gives Update On Squad’s Fitness During Press Conference For Bournemouth

Steve Bruce has given his press conference this morning for tomorrow’s trip to face Bournemouth. A result will have Newcastle reach the 40 point total for the season. But they’ll face a desperate side in the Cherries, who are mired in 18th place at the moment.

With this being Newcastle’s fourth game in just 11 days, Bruce says he’ll rotate the squad and could bring in some players who have yet to feature since the league resumed.

Players who have yet to play who have been available include Emil Krafth, Yoshinori Muto, and Christian Atsu, who hasn’t been named in a matchday squad since the return.

Bruce pulled some of his stars in latter stages of the FA Cup quarterfinal. Hopefully, the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron will be able to go tomorrow. Though 4 starts in 11 days is a risk.

The head coach spoke about Saint-Maximin and also confirmed there were no new injuries to report. However, Matt Ritchie is still not right after being taken off against Aston Villa.

Here’s Chris Waugh’s tweet on injuries and the fitness of the squad.

Steve Bruce also shed some light on the situation with Florian Lejeune, who was injured in the friendly against Hull. Unfortunately, the Frenchman may not be able to return this season.

All in all, the injury situation isn’t too bad. The Lonstaffs returned against Manchester City, so it looks like just Ritchie will be a question mark for tomorrow with Lejeune and Ciaran Clark being unavailable.

yeah i played once a week pre-lockdown with some workmates, iv just turned 40 and im playing with some lads 20-25 and its a struggle with my gammy knees so iv been running every other day for the past 2 months – need to be in decent shape for whenever we get back on the pitch.

might even give an over 40’s league a look-in.

i wasnt a bad player when i was younger and if i has the hunger for it rather than the hunger for woman and cider i might of done something.

i remember being down at Darlington for trials and at the time James Coppinger was there as youth trainee before going and joining the toon

Richard Masters saying he wants NUFC takeover “concluded shortly” felt significant. MP insisting government HAVE interfered to force deal through tallies with what we’ve been told. Masters says not. But was interesting he stated beoutQ no longer operating.

Joelinton needs to go in the bin! He’s just NOT good enough and it’s obvious that Bruce must know this. Sad for Joey but true; another Ashley disaster!

Frank and Gothmog, on the subject of winning with 7 goals a few posts back, this was the first game I my father took me to at SJP,

‘when masters was being quizzed and talking about the length he was about to say this particu…. then got interrupted i feel he was about to say this particular case or whatever and that would of been definite confirmation but who knows…..’

He also says at the end of that bit that he can’t talk ‘about the specifics of this particular process’. Doesn’t that indicate that there is an actual test being gone through. I can’t see that the process itself is confidential or that he is unable to talk about it in general. Surely it’s only confidential when there is a buyer and seller agreement and the process has been started.

Not sure I’m getting that across very well. 🙂

I wonder whether the WTO and EPL want to see Saudi grant BeIn access to the Saudi courts to pursue compensation for pirated broadcasts? Such compensation, if awarded, might see the EPL for example, receive compensation for those matches?

What does the Q stand for in LGBTQ? Nobody has used “queer” as a stand in for “strange” since about the 1950s mate and it was clear what you were trying to say.
