Alan Shearer Reacts To Superb 4-1 Win At Bournemouth

Alan Shearer reacted to Newcastle’s brilliant 4-1 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium tonight.

It was a superb win and the second in four games in the league since we returned as part of Project Restart.

And we have 7 points from those 3 games and our goal difference is 6 goals better than it was.

Can’t be bad.

It was just a pity we conceded that goal four minutes into injury from former Newcastle player Dan Gosling.

Newcastle were 2-0 up at the half with goals from Dwight Gayle (5mins) and Sean Longstaff (30 and in the second half Newcastle dominated on cruise control with goals from Almiron (52) and loan player Lazaro. (77).

But Newcastle remain in 13th place with 42 points and must be safe in the Premier League now.

We are 4 points out of 7th place and Arsenal who hammered bottom-placed Norwich City 4-0 at home today.

We wouldn’t have conceded with Rafa in charge.

In all seriousness, Krafth played his best game for us imo, looked good going forward too which was a nice surprise.

Bentaleb looked better, maybe getting match fit, still on the fence about signing him, will judge at the end of the season but more in favour now.

Bournemouth were rotten though, nailed on to go down.

I kind of dont mind Bournemouth. I hope its West Ham that goes down. Those smug London clubs need a reality check.

Great performance to the point it was comfortable at 2-0.

We are one top striker away from being a top 10 club in my opinion, with the takeover we get it, with Ashley it is doubtful we will spend big again after Joelinton

Great result today. The early goal set the tone and we never looked back. Still not sure about Joelinton but we look far better with that formation than 5 at the back.

Just being petty here but the minute Moyes, in his delusion said

“There are only two or three managers with a better Premier League win record than me,”he said. “That’s what I do. I win.”

I instantly wanted him to get relegated and with West Ham would be all the sweeter. So hoping Chelsea absolutely hammer them tonight (pardon the pun)

Finally going to a back 4 was a massive step but tonight is the first time we’ve really gone 433 and what a difference it made. Never thought I’d talk about free flowing football.

ASM motm by a country mile, pity we conceded, pity Carroll didn’t score, pity we conceded, however we hammered them really.

Depends on how you compare him. Compare him to Pep, Klopp, Poch, Nagelsmann, etc and the rest of the elite then yeah he’s punching way above his weight.

Bottom to mid-table calibre then he’s done alright for himself and deserves some credit.

However the team need some serious cred too after Wed’s shocking game. They could have easily continued the shambles tonight. Respect to the team.

Could there be a legal reason, linked to us being Guaranteed PL football next season, before ya announcement can be made?
    Mathematically safe that is….?

A few have surmised the same, but legally – doubtful.

It makes sense to the buyer, and we live in hope of any possible link to the takeover, but alas, hope & wait is all we have.

Rotunda. That Moyes quote is verbatim. He clearly stated his win record is one of the best with only 2 or 3 better. Regardless of total wins or percentage wins he is deluding himself if he believes that to be true

Great performance and result – but I’m not that surprised.

It was my opinion before the season restarted that we could do well and get 12-15pts and even challenge for 10th.

Before the break Rose, Bentalen and Lazaro were good additions but had little time to settle in + ASM was just starting to get match fit and AC and Gayle were injured. But, we were still getting points.

The break and mini pre-season has allowed the new lads to settle, ASM to get fully fit and AC and Gayle to come back fit. It’s an old saying… but that is like six quality new signings.

This squad now is far better than many fans, and pundits, give credit for.

It was great to see Bentaleb and Krafth have very decent games and a great cameo and goal from Lazaro.

The lads will be sky high on confidence and gunning for the max points and highest finish, as will Bruce who I’m sure will not allow any complacency to the end of the season.

    HWTL.

Every man jack gave his all tonight and they were still pressing and chasing right to the end.
Maximin is just different class and it was good to see Miggy back to his best with great runs and a lovely goal.
That smile of his when he scored was even wider than normal. Must say I was impressed with both full backs as they were much calmer and accomplished than Rose who has looked quite dodgy in his last games.
Joelinton continuing to improve and Lazaro looks to be showcasing himself for next seasons consideration.
A great all round performance. Onwards and upwards.
Just need this takeover to happen now and we’ll all sleep much better at night.

Really wish that we had played a 4-3-3 earlier in the season.

Look at all the points we dropped at home against bottom six clubs (Norwich 0-0, Brighton 0-0, Watford 1-1, Villa 1-1, Burnley 0-0).

Add those extra ten points on to our total, and we’re at 52 points instead of 42 and fighting for a spot in Europe….
