Newcastle At Bournemouth – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Poll Result

Here is the team we predict Steve Bruce will select for this evening’s match at Bournemouth. It has six changes from the loss to Manchester City.

Bruce vowed to make changes during yesterday’s press conference. While the injury situation is improving, he’ll have a few knackered Magpies to take into consideration, with some starting three matches in a week.

Bruce singled out Allan Saint-Maximin as one who is a bit exhausted after last week’s matches. Newcastle are a different side without the Frenchman on the pitch. So if he doesn’t start, we’ll have to hope the lads can cope without him.

Newcastle Injuries

Florian Lejeune – thigh, Ciaran Clark – ankle, Matt Ritchie – thigh (late fitness test)

Bournemouth Injuries

Charlie Daniels – knee, Simon Francis – knee, Josh King – ankle (late fitness test), Philip Billing (late fitness test), Callum Wilson – suspended (accumulation of yellow cards), Ryan Fraser – contract expired

Our poll reveals that many fans are back on the optimistic side, with over 80% of voters expecting a result. Over half of them think we’ll take all three points at the Vitality Stadium.

How Will Newcastle Do At Bournemouth On Wednesday?

While our league position, at 14th, isn’t anything to write home about, Newcastle could jump a few teams with a win today, depending on how Everton fares.

We’ve still got a four-game unbeaten streak in the league. So hopefully, the boys can keep that intact at Bournemouth this evening.

Of course Jib knows what he’s doing – he’s stirring the pot, encouraging arguments to both feed his need for attention and divert attention from his own behaviour and lies.

Going for a 0-0 draw in a drab match between two of the lowest scoring sides in EPL – Bournemouth will be looking at this as a game they can win

Giimps that could work, but Ritchie’s facing a late fitness test. Maybe Lazaro in if he’s not back? Or could drop Joelinton in at CAM or in a wide attacking role?

Big Joe did play left for his last club , but i think i would rather have the pace of Lazaro if Ritchie is unavailable, especially if we have Andy up top…..then again 2 battering rams up top with Miggy and ASM around them would be interesting i think.

Historically when we are not under pressure (table position wise) and we’re playing one of the weaker teams we usually end up loosing.

Dont be surprised if we loose miserably tonight, that’s then followed up with public outrage over how we could be so bad and didnt try. Which is followed by a much better performance and usually a win the following match.

The prem is generally quite a physical league and that’s an area where out current crop can be a little lacking so I can definitely see the value in roughing up some defences with a couple of players who can stand up to the bigger lads. Joelinton’s definitely got the stature for that and I’d like to see him use that more.

    Giimps.

I agree. AC’s injury issues are there for all to see and they have hampered him in terms of his quickness and agility, so he’s had to focus more on his positional play and working on bringing other players around him into the game. His experience of the league is invaluable and we don’t have anyone else in the first team who can really offer that same on-pitch experience to the newer arrivals. I’d be tempted to have him informally tutoring Joelinton, and if he impresses I’d seriously consider putting him in for coaching qualifications and giving him role in the youth team setup. That’s assuming he’d be interested.
