Bruce Likely To Have Selection Issues Once Again Tomorrow

Newcastle released training images from their latest session yesterday. They showed both Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin with the team in full training. Sean Longstaff was also seen doing some individual work.

Almiron and Saint-Maximin had picked up slight knocks at Watford on Saturday. But it looks like they could play a part against Spurs tomorrow evening.

However, there was no Jamaal Lascelles or Andy Carroll to be seen in the training pictures. During his press conference for tomorrow’s match, Steve Bruce declared both Lascelles and Carroll are likely to be unavailable. Though the captain is getting assessed by the medical team today.

There’s also Jonjo Shelvey’s fitness to take into consideration as he has started four matches in 11 days and has had issues with recovery in the past. So we’ll see if Bruce risks the midfielder against Spurs.

Bruce is already without Florian Lejeune, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, and Sean Longstaff, despite him getting back on the grass. Danny Rose will be ineligible to play against his parent club as well.

It looks like this could be another game where Bruce is limited with his team selection, especially in midfield and defense. So we could see a few youngsters in the matchday squad once again.

    Bruce

If they are an injury risk, DO NOT PLAY THEM.

There is no reason at all to risk players at this stage of the season. None. Just give them a proper rest or they’ll end up injured long-term.

How has he not realised this yet? Do we not have physios and sports scientists at the club to advise Bruce on this? Or are they just useless? Or does he flat out ignore them? Whatever the reason is, it’s utter madness risking anyone when the season’s as good as over anyway.

Certainly did mate. Sadly, it’s force of habit. Literally everyone outside the north east refers to man u as “united”, even most of the toon fans I know. Try going to another part of the country and ask the first person you meet who United’s best player has been this season and they’ll answer with the name of a man u player…

Ok so bein sports have kicked up a massive fuss about Newcastle takeover
And I think the blow has been softened by allowing them to keep euro football
Golden hand shake under the table
We will shut up about Newcastle takeover if we get to spend again as Newcastle will catch us up otherwise
Been told takeover will get green lighted this week
Heard also that there has been a promised 2.3 billion investment in Newcastle from Saudi to sweeten the uk gov
Been i talks with Newcastle council
There was apparently no stopping this takeover as legally the premier league would have multi million pound law suits against them from every party involved
Bein apparently have been doing there nut about it
Man City approved euro football as a sweetener
St James park is gonna be turned into st James palace
A multi complex with a sports direct shop inside along with bars restaurants and hotel
Also Debenhams going in there as part of the 300 million deal
    You heard it here first
    Thank me later

KV; Stop digging buddy you’re only making it worse. The one thing that grates all Newcastle United supporters is how our name has been hijacked by Manure. We were United before them. Even when we play them commentators use United to describe them. It boils my urine.

@20, fairly certain the red/white striped half of Sheffield get annoyed about that too. TBF, when I hear people referring to ‘United’ I assume they mean Newton Heath.

Planning permission been one of the hold ups
Massive sky scraper style stadium never been seen before with stadium underneath it
    Apparently gonna blow everyone’s minds
Ashley has agreed a 100 year rent free lease for 2 floors as part of transfer
You will see it all on Friday
Said this months ago and never commented again until now about it as it was never announced
If it’s not true I will never comment again

Never in all of my nearly 50 years of supporting NUFC have I ever heard another fan refer to “United” as meaning Manchester United. Why would they?

Nearly as big a give away as saying “Haway” as opposed to “Howay”
