EGB – no sir. They are part of the blog’s ritual and look forward to your kickoff countdowns. I am getting old and forgot a lot of you such as Shirebrook, Kets, Bambamsand even Catchy’s complaints and some of the newer posters are quite good with their discussions about football and different parts of the country. Just think you would all want to use this blog to chat among fellow fans rather than attacking what Ed built up and Neil is keeping going. Apologies to the other decent posters I didn’t call out.

From way back, I was wrong, Junco Partners supported Canned Heat when I saw them at the Northern Stage (University Theater) back in 1990 when I was 15. Another great night and 2 great bands. Funny thing on that night (cant believe I’m admitting this) at the end of any gig there, the bands or artist always had a drink in the bar and signed autographs. On the way to the gig, I called into Metro Radio then at Swalwell to pick up the Princess of Pop, Kylie tickets I had just won. I had nothing else to get signed, so the guys from Canned Heat signed my Kylie tickets, one said couldnt wait to get back home and tell everyone what he had just signed. So even at 15 I think most of my music taste was alright and I still have the signed ticket

They’re saying the biggest crime of the 66 WC was that none of the players were brought onboard to be given jobs within the FA after they retired to pass on their knowledge and experience, probably because they were working class and that’s why Ramsay had to affect that ridiculous accent, Clough never stood a chance back then.

Sorry Jane forgot I was addressing a simple algorithm, doing algorithm jokes for simpletons.

Well it seems you’re a crowd pleaser. Now Jane, please go find a human that understands what I said and get them to explain how 13th in the league represents an achievement over 15th, when both mean absolutely nowt.

I can repeat the question but can you turn the porch light off first?

Jail for Ashley, i agree with your post about England managers and the players being working class, as an Irish man i find it amazing that Brain Clough was never given the England Job, but i understand the politics of why he was never offered the the Job, clough was his own man, he would have took no shit with those stuffed shirts within the FA, Jail big Jack applied for the England job before he took the Ireland Job and never even got a reply enough said Jail. Given that this is likely to be another Ashley and Charnley window, I’ve been arguing that the best most realistic outcome we can hope for is to secure our 3 loanees for another season, allowing us to focus mainly on getting a fit for purpose number 9 to lead our line.

Believe me, we are far more likely to end up with worse rather than better otherwise.

An absent owner, hapless Managing Director, and powerless journeyman manager could easily present us with the same group of players that started this season minus Willems, seeing us playing a flat back four with Dummett and Clark as the left backs and Schar in midfield.

That group of players would win the Championship, but would be in the bottom 4 in the EPL come Christmas under Bruce, and it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine it happening.

    Mund,

question for you (or anybody for that matter)

I was reading your posts earlier about George Caulkin and it got me thinking that I didn’t know anything about him.

So I started reading a few articles and in an article he had written about sir Bobby, I came across this statement.

“When I joined The Times as their North East football writer in 1998, Robson was a contributor to the newspaper. He was a hero of mine; I’d followed him to Langley Park infants school and, like him, supported Newcastle“

So now I am curious to find out more about him and where he grew up – anyone know any good sources of information?

I look forward to the time the toon hierarchy, whoever they may be, pay that extra million instead of losing out to other clubs.

If we can’t at least be competitive on transfers how do we expect to be competitive in the league. We’re not goin to reproduce the Manure class of 92 are we?

Makes me think the JoeLinton transfer is so full of wrongness. Same agent as Maximan, maybe a good deal in the end for the pair? It’s all a bit queer them deals!

I hope it is of course, but probably not now, and even if it is, it’s getting to the point where they wouldn’t have the time to greatly influence this window anyway.

You’d hope that the consortium has talking with the club and that there is an agreement to strengthen regardless, but with this regime, who knows what will happen?

Aye nobody knows. But if they have a couple of weeks or even a week you can guarantee they will have things lined up or at least reaching out and getting feelers out there.

I said earlier I do believe when it’s announced we will see a quick influx of top quality players. Or more I hope 😉
