Report – Diminished Crowds Could Return For Start Of Next Season

The Mirror is reporting that Newcastle fans may soon get to cheer on the Magpies at St James Park once again. Though it will not be 52,000 strong. According to the report, the whole of next season could be played with a reduced number of fans in the stands.

This claim has both an upside as well as a downside. We fully expected next season to start with the matches behind closed doors. So if when September 12th rolls around, stadiums can house fans at a diminished capacity, that would be better than initially anticipated.

However, the problem is just when are things going to return to normal. The Mirror says it could be some time before restrictions on attendance at sporting events are lifted. The Mirror cites comments from James Calder, who has been working with the government and health officials.

Calder told the BBC that he doesn’t foresee a return to full stadiums until a vaccine is not only developed but widely dispersed amongst the public.

A cricket friendly between Surrey and Middlesex was played before a thousand fans last Sunday. There will also be a limited amount of fans allowed at the World Snooker Championships in Sheffield beginning on Friday.

However, those events have a much more subdued crowd without the chanting and cheering that takes place at football matches. Calder says the spread of the virus through droplets will be a concern at football matches so socially distanced fans could be the norm for the foreseeable future.

I think there was always the question as to whether the PIF would own the club and where the line lay. Its not great news and the tone of excitement about a takeover is beginning to got flat very quickly on here.

Tarquin and KV will be happy though.”

Right Munster you lying clod it’s time to put up a post where I indicated I would be happy for a takeover to fall through. Instead of your completely fabricated and repetitive propaganda try the truth. You are a blight to the blog with your deliberately insulting misrepresentation of virtually everything you say. I have no idea why KV gets so much flak and you have been doing this for years. You are a top fraud.

    Put up or shut up.

They use the same headquarters because it was already set up, and have some of the same staff because they had a wealth of experience in the job.

Aside from that they’re completely different. The FSB only serves Russia, while the KGB oversaw the entirety of the USSR.

It’s clearly up to the Saudis to make the next move, and if they don’t we may end up with the poor relation from the States. Staveley needs to start lighting a fire under their bums to get this piracy sorted. Don’t care if it takes another 2 months, but the PIF deal is the only one that will take us forward.

My answer was genuinely how I feel about it.

A lot of people don’t understand scepticism or can’t admit there are things they don’t know, so they have to pretend to be 100% certain about everything and can’t admit when they are wrong.

I’m not one of those people and I don’t claim to be 100% certain on what will happen at our club. I don’t see the point. Clearly it is an unknown at this point.

Lets not sugar coat it or gloss over it, this latest takeover with the saudis is in huge trouble, the saudis are not giving clear answers and clarity to thier valid questions, and if that continuous there wont be a takeover with the saudis, to think otherwise is simply deluusional and silly and wishful thinking, i think there will be a takeover at some point in the future, by ive my doubts its going to be with the saudis, just my opinion. I don’t know why the Bruce topic is so difficult to understand.

We stayed up this season and he seems like a nice guy – so those are his positives.

The negatives are – he is a downgrade to Rafa. Just like Sean Dyche is a downgrade to Carlo Ancelotti even if they finish close to each other in the table.

I don’t know how some people here cannot understand simple concepts. To make it clear here are 2 examples:

    1. Pep walks out on Man City tomorrow and Man City have a choice of Rafa or Bruce – who would they go with? Rafa – and why is that? Because he is a better manager. Not “Bruce did better than him on wednesday or in January or in 2014” – Rafa is overall better than Bruce – his record shows that. That is what you call FACT.

Therefore no other manager in the Prem will choose Bruce over Rafa. It is nothing against Bruce he is just a lower calibre. Not hard to understand.

    2. Kevin Phillips scored 30 prem goals in 1999/00 season – Shearer scored 23. Was Kevin a better striker than Alan? Would other teams have chosen Kevin over Alan? No – why is that? Because Alan is a better calibre. [This does not even apply because Bruce did not end up bettering Rafa’s record but even if he got 1 or 5 points more – this applies]

Bournmouth against the PL. Something to take our minds off the problems with the takeover. Wonder what they will have to say about that fiasco?

PL- “Oh, we leave all those decisions for the referee and VAR.”
Bournmouth – “So replay video which CLEARLY shows the ball over the line is fake? Then your damn eyes are closed”.

Surely it’s an application rather than a test in reality.

The EPL will be working through the process with the consortium, asking them to clarify this, fix this, add this, adjust this, demonstrate this etc.

If the consortium can satisfactorily comply with each request, the bid will continue to move forward and ultimately be approved.

    If it can’t, it won’t.

Piracy is obviously a major obstacle to be worked through.

Until I hear the bid has failed I will assume it is still alive and edging forward.

Just a fan- no because it is taking over the blog. It’s all arguments against the WUM. I never interact with the WUM myself so I follow my advice. It just sickens me to see everyone falling right into the WUM’s plan to disrupt the blog and be the centre of attention.

Just ignore and don’t react to anything the WUM says and we real fans can debate among ourselves like we always used to.
