Amanda Staveley-Led Consortium Pull Plug On Newcastle United Takeover Attempt

Keith Downie with Sky Sports is sharing the news we all did not want to hear. The takeover is now off as the consortium has formally withdrawn it’s bid to purchase Newcastle United.

Keith Downie has also tweeted the following statement from the consortium.

This is of course devastating news for a Newcastle fanbase that has been through so much under Mike Ashley. We can’t help but harbor serious animosity towards the Premier League for allowing this to linger this long while leaving the club in limbo.

Where we go from here, we have no idea.

Those bitter few who are rejoicing in being right, if you are truly taking more joy out of this instead of consoling each other on here, you’re just as big c****s as the PL and Ashley

What hurts is the inevitable signings of Bentaleb and Rose (to follow Manquillo…) along with other loan signings and the undoubted loss of one of the most talented and exciting players I have ever seen in our shirt Saint Maximin (along with Beardsley & Gazza). As well as cashing in on our other obvious assets.

    Hitman

I don’t believe for one minute that Covid or economic uncertainty caused the Saudis to walk.

The pandemic gave a reason they’d walked, a face saver. It’s sure to have been the EPL asking the impossible.

They’ll not be back, that’s for sure.

Well this annual slap in the faces of us Geordies regarding Fat Lad supposedly selling the club. Just in time to receive the annual Millions from 13th position etc. What will he spend it on this year another HOF project ?
However the more worrying thoughts of who will he sell ? St Maxi ? Miggy ?
Anyone of any of them if the price is right.
Premier League, DOUBLE STANDARDS or what. If it had been one of the London or Manchester clubs them this would have happened within reasonable time.
