George Caulkin Issues Important Clarification On Reports Of Ashley’s Involvement In Takeover Collapse

Earlier this afternoon, journalist David Coverdale tweeted the following information he said came from a source close to the Saudis.

The inference is that with the consortium losing exclusivity, which was confirmed in their statement, that Mike Ashley was free to renegotiate the terms of the deal and took the opportunity to do just that in order to squeeze more money out of the Saudis.

However, this claim quite inflammatory under the current state of affairs. It is also unsubstantiated.

George Caulkin has tweeted the following information from the consortium that Mike Ashley is not the cause of the takeover’s collapse.

We hope Ashley has potential buyers waiting in the wings as his time to sell the club is long overdue. However, in terms of this takeover failing, it seems that Ashley is not the culprit.

Luv the idea that the battle is lost but the war still goes on.
Would be brilliant if they have withdrawn to the green zone to re-org and come up with a new plan of attack.

full of malice and cunning to thwart the people who ridiculed them
get the takeover done no matter what and then make the enemy pay

But the problem is, I never fully believed it would happen. And now it hasn’t my faith is diminished .
The thought of a re-plen and new attack seems fanciful….

I read the other day that Bezos made £13 billion in one day in the middle of a global economic crisis.

The guy could buy us at 100 times the asking price without breaking a sweat.

Ashley would still find a way of messing it up.

I can almost hear him yelling “bloody amazon tyre kickers”

I am absolutely devastated by today’s news, we are stuffed with fatash in charge, to clarify a point made earlier each premier club has a representative in the premier league so it is quite easy for them to give their opinion.

Dont blame Toon 22 for telling the truth.
He/She was taken in by the sale early days as all of us were.
He sees how we are being screwed by AshLie

    Sorry to disagree.
He’s been the culprit for 13 years – so far
