The Cowardly Premier League Refuse To Make The Tough Decision – They Save Themselves By Persuading Consortium To Pull Out

It was always going to be a tough decision for the Premier League, once they were given the takeover papers by Amanda Staveley on or around April 9th.

So what did they do, they waited and waited and waited and refused even in the end, to make a decision.

Either way, the knew their decision would be met with disdain.

If they OKd the Newcastle takeover, the human rights organizations and beIN Sports and others would have criticized them remorselessly.

If they said no, then Newcastle fans would ask why did it take so long (almost four months) when they eventually turned it down, and what was it turned down for?

But what did they do when they were put in a corner by letting the takeover drag on.

Not the brave and courageous thing that most good management teams would do and make an actual decision,  and do their job.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters – coward in chief

No, they persuaded the consortium to pull their bid and they saved themselves.

Phew – that was close – we almost were forced to do our job.

To be clear here is a definition of cowardice and coward:

“Cowardice is a trait wherein excessive fear prevents an individual from taking a risk or facing danger.”

“Cowardice is the opposite of courage. As a label, “cowardice” indicates a failure of character in the face of a challenge.”

“A coward – a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things. “they had run away—the cowards!”

“A coward – being excessively afraid of danger or pain.

They saved themselves from having to make a difficult decision

They saved themselves from having to say exactly how the consortium failed under their current rules in the owners’ and directors’ test.

And they saved themselves from the consortium coming back to sue them.

So at the end of the day, the Premier League were thinking of nothing else but saving themselves.

And they have put Newcastle, one of their member clubs, into an awful position with four months gone down the drain, and the transfer window now open.

I cannot think that if this was a more popular club in London or in the northwest of England, it would have been approved.

The Premier League has taken the dreams of Newcastle fans away.

They have done it for their own selfish interests.

They are cowards in every sense of the word.

I know a bit about managing in a tough environment and having to make some tough decisions – and I can tell you – they are most definitely cowards in that world.

The less said the better.

    Morning all,,
A restless night sleep lying thinking about what the hell happened in my life yesterday. I hope the Reubens and Amanda wake today more determined than ever to buy the club.
I can’t wait to see how chi reacts in her letter seeing as its probably her constituency that will be affected most.
I think all the north east mp’s should come together and try to get masters to appear in front of them to discuss his reasons for delay.

For what its worth, this is my view on the takeover and the premier league:

Deal agreed and paper work submitted to premier league.

Premier league don’t want to give go ahead to takeover because it involves a county (Saudi Arabia) that has has an obvious role in piracy of the EPL.

Also, it will cause issues with a current rights holder – BeIN and Qatar.

However, EPL can’t reject takeover because they can’t prove a direct link between PIF, KSA and piracy.

Therefore, the EPL finds ways to avoid making a decision that they don’t want to make i.e. approve the takeover.

They wait until the consortium of PCP, PIF and Reuben brothers lose patience, withdraw bid and the EPL can hide behind we tried our best but the consortium couldn’t answer our questions to our satisfaction.

It was a strange statement from PIF and gave the PL a way out by suggesting that global uncertainty was the issue. Economic uncertainty wud not have stopped a group as wealthy as this but it makes the PIF look a little foolish now. Not hugely impressed by them in some ways after that. Once quatar and TV rights came into it, it was always going to be difficult to get it through. It’s annoying that Amanda didn’t force the PL to make a decision and comment. Now they might say nothing. I had said before that Amanda and Co won’t sue and I don’t think they will. On what basis? Gutted, and hungover and work starts in 30 mins. 🙁

I keep checking the news sources in the hope it was all just a joke.

If it’s true about the EPL, then it’s an absolute disgrace…..they surely need to answer to someone for their (in)actions!

I’m still hopeful that yesterday’s news was a play by the Saudis; but it’s a very small hope. I think the EPL are too full of themselves that, if it was a play, it would have the opposite effect.

It there is another bidder and they are serious, they should have everything set in place to make a bid and start the O+D process.

If no new bid within the next week or two, I fear we are stuck with Ashely.

Morning all, i would normally say good morning but it ain`t is it .
What a shower of shit show we have just been through over the last 4 months.
Now its over apparently. Where are the sources to say this deal is off?
Please don`t ask me to read any article from whoever bcos non off the previous BS news has had any proof at all.
If this takeover has collapsed, and personally i think it had a few weeks ago, then PL football can go and screw itself.
I love Nufc but i hate the PL for what has happened.
From now on South Shields will be getting my financial support.
My heart will always be with the Toon.

Everyone could post a white feather to Masters and all those involved in the non decision.

In any aspect of business not making a decision is an act of weakness and folly. It may ever be contrary to their constitution.

Their PR release by a third party will be an act of pure absolvement.

Still no doubt Masters will have the courage to stand up and meet the press and TV interviewers. Won’t he?

Are they guilty of corporate negligence?
