Young American Dreaming Of England Move Is Again Linked To Newcastle

Early this month, there was a report that Schalke midfielder Weston McKennie was open to leaving the Bundesliga club this summer. He was reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League which was described as a dream move.

NBC Sports is reporting that the young American remains keen on testing himself in England and lists Newcastle as one of several EPL clubs with interest.

Early reports had Everton and Newcastle as admirers of the 21-year-old while the lastest report adds Southampton, Leicester City, and even Liverpool and Chelsea to the mix.

NBC Sports claims Schalke would ask for at least £20m for McKennie, who signed a new contract last summer to 2024.

American journalist Kristian Dyer (Sports Illustrated) has tweeted that a source tells him Newcastle are a club to watch in regards to McKennie. He cites a transfer fee of £23m.

However, with Newcastle having a budget of around £30-35m plus any amount from outgoings, we can’t see them splashing that much cash on the midfielder. Especially, when getting in a striker who can put the ball in the back of the net is the priority.

McKennie joined Schalke in 2017 from the Dallas Academy. He has 91 appearances for the German club with 5 goals and 7 assists. He’s also been a full United States international for the past three years with 19 caps and 6 goals.

I was in a night club last week and this beautiful girl came over to me.

She patted me on my bald head and asked me, “Is it true what they say about bald men making better lovers?”

I said, “I’ve no idea; I’ve never slept with one.”

    HWA,
You should know that the team won’t see a third of those player sales, they’re deliberately structured so that Mikey can deny funds to the team and are much easier to trouser when paid over five years.

Mckennie would be a good little signing. Speaks English so wouldn’t have to learn the language, 20m is a reasonable price for a player of his age and ability, but probably more than we’d be willing to pay.

£20m on Mckennie, Matty’s contract sorted, Jovic in on loan and £15m left over for a left-back would be a decent start to the summer.

I’m just so afraid that without a takeover, or the current takeover being stalled indefinitely, AshLIE will continue his business as usual way or running the club. Why change if he wants rid? Spend as little as possible to keep us in the premier league. He’s pretty much done that for 13 years.

On Manure’s sponsorship deal with Saudi.

The two have been in partnership since 2008 as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.

The last renewal was in octiber 2017, but I haven’t been able to find anything that confirms when it expires.

I’d be surprised if it was coming to an end now.

Would it affect a takeover? If so, surely it would have been rejected at the start and the Saudis would have been told to try again once it was sorted.
