Report – Newcastle One Of Three Clubs Waiting On Prized Free Agent’s Decision

Yesterday, the Shields Gazette’s Liam Kennedy teased a transfer story for this morning. He hinted that a two-year pursuit of a target could be coming to a fruitful end.

Today, he’s put out his exclusive that Newcastle is soon to hear if they’ve won the race for former-Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

The Scottish international has been touted with a move to Newcastle for some time. However, links to the winger increased this past spring when it seemed certain he would leave Bournemouth on a free.

Kennedy writes that Bournemouth expected a move to be made last summer to bring Fraser to Tyneside but it never materialized. Newcastle also tried to get the 26-year-old on a pre-contract in May, but he opted to keep his options open instead.

Fraser was one of the few players to not sign an extension with their clubs to stay until the belated season ended on Sunday. He played no part for Bournemouth in the post-lockdown matches, a stretch that saw the Cherries unable to beat the drop.

It is believed that Fraser’s decision will be between Newcastle, West Ham, and Crystal Palace. Under the current circumstances, we think he would be a decent signing despite his poor final season at the Vitality Stadium.

Id would take Fraser regardless of any takeover.

will be first choice RW with no takeover, and a good PL squad cover if the dream had happened.

attitude a little in question for not staying to fight for bmouth but in our current situation, getting him on a free is a no brainer.

What’s the point in the fit and proper test. You either pass and you’re fit, or you fail one of the criteria and they fail you. You can’t pass and be failed because Spurs don’t want competition. We lost our place in the top when Chelsea got Russian owners. This is scandalous. Premier League have to give a reason. If they were blackmailed we should know, if they were bribed they should be investigated. You can’t just give no reason. This would have brought loads of tourism to the North East. It would have made the league stronger. Who cares if they did a poll and half the teams said they didn’t want comptetiom

This is not a point “doubt Masters will even read it , never mind reply to it”, most important that all of us do something, every little thing counts.

Clearly the O&D test is a facade; fit and proper doesn’t even come into it. You’ll be allowed in if you’re not likely to upset the balance of power of the major clubs and you’re small enough to be manipulated into whatever demands the league makes of you once you’re in.

So, will the EPL look for a way to bring the consortium back to the table and offer a face-saving approval. They could but they’d need to he quick before things really blow up.

Listen lads emailing Masters telling him how disappointed you are while noble is completely pointless. We need to go another route, we need to highlight the possibility of loosing hundreds of millions in investment into the northeast, we need to TRY get the government involved, emailing the likes of Dominic Raab et.al.

These are probably the only grounds on which the government might step in or consider stepping in, and I believe personally that’s probably the only way forward, the premierleague are in so much hot water that they created themselves that they just wont change their stance now.

Our only hope is government intervention and the only way they will intervene is if it is highlighted to them how much investment in the northeast and the UK economy as a whole they will loose!

It’s up to everyone of us now to create enough noise.

Extraordinary new twists coming out now

    – For the deal to be off, PIF have to send a legal withdraw document to PL which they have not done.

    – As far as PL is concerned deal is still on the table

    – Yesterday’s announcement was a call their bluff moment. Either man up and reject us, or stop insulting us and accept this deal.

    – Ashley and PIF still talking today trying to make the deal happen.

    – Still no comment in 17 weeks from PL

Oh well, don’t listen to me.

I thought the takeover would happen but feared it wouldn’t.
Perhaps I thought we would be relegated but hoped I was wrong.

Supporting NUFC is a roller coaster of emotions. It is akin to running for the bedford in full kit for it to drive off at the last second everytime you reach it….

No one answered my question other day. I asked is any nufc fan on here, who planned to support England in the world cup in Qatar, will they change their mind and not travel to Qatar now?

Another question when fans are allowed back in who will boycott away games to L’pool and Spurs and the Manchester clubs etc because going to their ground you are giving them revenue. They objected to the takeover so will any fans on here stop going to them away grounds?
