Report – Newcastle One Of Three Clubs Waiting On Prized Free Agent’s Decision

Yesterday, the Shields Gazette’s Liam Kennedy teased a transfer story for this morning. He hinted that a two-year pursuit of a target could be coming to a fruitful end.

Today, he’s put out his exclusive that Newcastle is soon to hear if they’ve won the race for former-Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

The Scottish international has been touted with a move to Newcastle for some time. However, links to the winger increased this past spring when it seemed certain he would leave Bournemouth on a free.

Kennedy writes that Bournemouth expected a move to be made last summer to bring Fraser to Tyneside but it never materialized. Newcastle also tried to get the 26-year-old on a pre-contract in May, but he opted to keep his options open instead.

Fraser was one of the few players to not sign an extension with their clubs to stay until the belated season ended on Sunday. He played no part for Bournemouth in the post-lockdown matches, a stretch that saw the Cherries unable to beat the drop.

It is believed that Fraser’s decision will be between Newcastle, West Ham, and Crystal Palace. Under the current circumstances, we think he would be a decent signing despite his poor final season at the Vitality Stadium.

My email to the Premier League……

My faith in the Premier League has diminished, approximately Four Months of assessments has resulted in no conclusion.
Wether it be unsubstantiated allegations or not, the competence of the Premier League will be truly examined by the Supporters and business partners of Newcastle United.
I will no longer support in any form or function any business associated with the Premier League and will campaign vigorously against the Premier League in any form or function

    @lochinvar

PIF released a statement. That is all that has happened.

No one has officially withdrawn from the deal. The PL have received no communication or legal document from PIF to say they wish to withdraw, so as of 12 noon today the deal is still with the PL awaiting their response.

The interesting thing about this today is that ALL parties involved are still committed to it happening.

Ashley, Amanda, and PIF have spoken today about their desire to buy the club.

The final clause that Masters demanded on Tuesday was that the Saudi Arabia government be named as the Director of the club. He did this so that NUFC could be tarnished with anything that happens in SA. No other organisation or PL chief has ever pulled this stunt. It was illegal and a breach of the PL’s own rules. Masters needs to be fired.

And just like that Mike Ashley goes from lead villain to club hero. Who’d have ever guessed that would happen, eh? No more boycotts, no more complaining about lack of investment, no more whingeing about players not being bought, more than likely not just keeping Bruce but getting the full support of the Geordie faithful behind him as he attempts to somehow juggle the club’s fiscal policy with his time-honoured style and somehow avoid relegation. The whole crew will be enjoying the most peaceful sleeps they ever had after today.

If it was made to look this way by design it would quite rightly be called a masterstroke.

The petition isn’t pointless and might even work however getting to 100k isnt a guarantee anything will be done about it, that 100k mark is a rumour. Petitions have gotten to parliament for far less and other petitions have got well over 100k and never made it to parliament. It is no guarantee and it certainly doesnt have to be addressed if it reaches 100k.

However it’s worth a try! There are If i recall around 500k living in Newcastle, you would imagine 1/5th of them singing is a genuine possibility.

It really needs to get local attention at the minimum, papers and local tv should be pushing this in Newcastle. But I suspect if it doesnt it will fizzle out before it gets to 20k just like the others in recent memory.

Haven’t commented since the news but honestly can we not just have a summer break without drama?! Every season we go into pre season unprepared with massive upheaval needed

The only seasons under Ashley that we have been prepared where Pardew coming 5th and Rafa’s first season back in the premiership every other year has been chaos

Takeover or not Ryan Fraser should be a must have under Ashley he becomes first choice and has been proven to be very productive when 100% fit

Under new owners he would be great for backup rotation to add some serious squad depth for a change if we could also keep Lazaro on loan you would have Almiron, ASM, Fraser, Lazaro and Joelinton for the wide attacking and no 10 roles in a 4231 with these guys rotating positions!

Means we could also ship out Atsu and Murphy to help fund other areas

Whilst its great for starting the petition we should have marched and protested at the Premier league HQ weeks ago. I appreciate it wasn’t clear then on what or who was the issue.

Now we have clarity, the enemy is known. We need to make ourselves heard albeit in a safe and appropriate way, considering social distance. We should be going in numbers to london.

I understand Genjekai (sp) was involved in previous protests. Are there any movements looking to do this?

I’d like to think theres plenty of us down south that could start the ball rolling. Perhaps the London mags could organise it?

Not sure what his side of the story is but without knowing it, Ryan Fraser looks like a shitehouse of the highest order, refusing to help Bournemouth in their hour of need. He’s a free agent and will be looking for a massive wage, he won’t find that here. I hope his shenanigans bite him on the ar$e.
Disclaimer if in case Bournemouth were in the wrong.

If Fraser has 3 options and is looking at us in our current state against the others, would you really expect him to come here?

Unless being closer to Scotland is a big factor for him.

If the petition actually did turn something round with the PL there’s still that telling phrase about the economic uncertainty. They didn’t just being that in for nothing.

How long do you think clubs will stand no matchday revenue? Will there be increased TV money because all the punters have to watch from home and so more TV subscribers? That might be years away from filtering through to clubs as increased TV deals. In the meantime will players still be paid their current wages or will deals start to be renegotiated as clubs start having to manage their outgoings to maintain their high turnover, or cut it down drastically more like.

Covid-19 is staying put for a good few years until governments realise they have to take drastic measures to eradicate it or create a vaccine. It means that crowds in their thousands won’t be seen for years to come. Football or any other big sport will not be able to sustain their current model for long. The days of big money investment might not be over, but they won’t be back for a good while. With an owner like Ashley we might be in even worse bother than we realise because if he sees no profitable value in us we could be another one of his retired brands.
