As we know Ms. Amanda Staveley was devastated the Newcastle takeover was not successful.
And of course, some male journalists – like Simon Jordan as one example – have blasted Ms. Staveley for showing her emotions in public.
Shame on them – and pity for them.
Amanda gave an interview to the Athletic and George Caulkin, and in the interview, she appears to hope the deal can be resurrected.
She reveals just how difficult the Premier League made it for them as they got them to jump through so many hoops and never did OK the deal.
They never turned it down other, that’s because they are wimps and not willing to stand up to their responsibilities when things get tough.
When things get tough the tough get going (and wimps rush for cover).
Here’s an excerpt from the interview:
“I hope the fans realize what’s happened, that this is a lot more complicated than it might seem.”
“I want them to understand the whole thing about the directorship, that it would be impossible for a state to become a director.”
“The Premier League made it so hard. It would be unprecedented. No country has ever become a director of a club. It’s ridiculous.”
“They were saying ‘you know what, we won’t reject you, but we won’t approve you either, so we’ll just sit here for month after month’.”
“They could have told us all this before we exchanged.”
“It’s up to the fans now.”
“Because if the fans want this back on then they’re going to have to go to the Premier League and say this isn’t fair.”
So there you have it – Amanda is asking fans to question the Premier League on what the heck they have been doing for four months and then never make a decision.
It’s unfair alright.
The Premier League have literally snubbed Newcastle United, one of their member clubs.
