Mystery Man Henry Mauriss – Is He A Real Bidder For Newcastle?

There seems to be a disbelief with Newcastle fans about even the existence of Henry Mauriss, the Burbank-born Billionaire who still resides in southern California.

Here’s some information about him and a little more information about him.

It’s true that there’s not an awful lot of information on the internet about the man and only about two photographs of him, but the man exists.

The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas tweeted out this today:

— Mark Douglas (@MsiDouglas) August 2, 2020

And we have to agree with Mark – it’s a strange situation – he will either be taking over Newcastle in a month or it’s all rubbish about him.

But hopefully, this takeover will not become another long drawn out sage – we’ve had too many of those over the last three yeasr – and nohting has happened.

🙁

Mike Ashley has rightly put a time limit on Mauriss, and he has to bid before August 14th or the proposed acquisition is never going to move forward.

We covered the story earlier this morning.

So there’s just 11 days before that one either ends or becomes real for the CEO of ClearTV.

What do you think?

Note – here’s a petition to sign to get an independent review of the EPL Takeover process – please sign it – thanks.

Dubai Micky – thanks for the Bobby Robson link yesterday, I put in a donation this mornin – nice to see some familiar names. I’m Clarkemi on Twitter and follow several of you – I don’t post much but if you want a follow reach out on Twitter.

Still like the blog but by skimming over the crap from the antagonist I obviously missed some good info. Wish we had a filter to eliminate posts from selected names.

Also saw Raffathegaffa post the other day even though he said he would never post again if his Friday revelation never came through. Think we should have a donation to either Ed’s favorite hospital or the Booby Robson Foundation by all those who said they are never going to post again or will leave the blog and then they are posting within a week or two.

Maybe someone should contact some Chelsea supporters
Find out if they are happy about the ref helping Arsenal win the FA cup due to the prem league wanting them in Europe next season
So they can make money from showing their games
Or maybe ask Leicester / Spurs what they think about all of those penalties used to help get Manu into the CL spot to their detriment

This thing isnt just about them blocking our sale, its about corruption of a national institution

Seems to me the management fo the prem league have discarded any notion of fair play or an un bias approach to whats supposed to be a sporting enterprise
    Its a farce, its rigged
Arranged in a manner thats deemed more profitable
How can a nation like Qatar be allowed to have a seat at the prems table ?

He’s a man that has minimal online presence, has links to current ownership, and what little online that there is shows he doesn’t have the types of funds required to do a deal like this.

That’s why the hostility, Mark. We do not trust him.

Have to say not in the least interested in Mauriss whatever he brings to the table.
When you’ve been taken to the gates of Harrods then had them closed on you and informed you have to go now to Poundland it’s too much to bear.
Apart from that, apparently he knows Ashley from previously and his middleman is Chris Ronnie who has already been in jail apparently. Sorry, but it all stinks to high heaven. Ashley’s retention of signage etc would no doubt be part of the deal and we’d NEVER be rid of his odious presence.
IF this was to go through the Premier League decision making and motives would be questioned even more.

If everybody felt that their signature would make no difference to an outcome, then there’s be no petition and less chance of a desired outcome – an inquiry into the conduct of and vested interests within the EPL!

Waverers, refusniks, please sign the petition and those few minutes might just make a difference.

The closer this petition gets to 100k the more nervy the Premier League will get.

If we can get to 100k we might just get to know the truth.

Well worth a go in my opinion.

the Premier league is all about MONEY.

Although I never felt the deal would go through I thought the greed might be enough for it to slip it pass.

Weird one as its all about money and Saudi have all the money, I expected the PL to get its hand straight in the cookie jar

I don’t think for one minute that PIF and KSA’s vision for NUFC and football in general is limited to exploiting the EPL.

If that is the case, the current state of the world economy and the Covid pandemic would encourage any visionary to look at a bigger picture.

Might PIF envision a world-wide network of super leagues, organised by region, extend to forming a super league type competition with the world’s elite teams being part of them?

Covid ain’t going to go away in the next year and thus economies are not going to bounce back to life any time soon. So, revenue derived from fans attending matches is a drop in the ocean when considered against a background of games being screened worldwide. Revenues could eclipse that gained by the likes of the EPL which would become a de-facto feeder to a world-wide league.

If KSA has such vision, then why not NUFC being among the world’s best?

If you haven’t, sign the petition and expose the EPL for what it is – corrupted by vested interests.

it really doesn’t matter what side of the fence you sit on, or indeed who the manager is, unless we get this mess sorted sharpish we are well and truly stuffed, the PL not only robbed us of a takeover the robbed us of our future as a football club,
the future does not look bright from where i’m sitting,
