Newcastle Fan Group Objects To What Increasingly Looks Like An Inwardly Corrupt Premier League

After the Richard Masters letter was published yesterday – as a response to questions from MP for Newcastle central MP Chi Onwurah, there were lots of responses from fans – on the negative side.

Most think the Premier League is basically corrupt to the core.

We couldn’t believe the deal had been turned down for the flimsy reason that Masters detailed in his letter, which seemed to make things even worse for the Premier League.

Masters was just looking for a way out, maybe as a way to protect and please the bigger clubs in the league, who had pestered him to turn the deal down from the very start.

The very impressive Wor Flags group were getting ready to return to the Gallowgate end with their terrific flags, once the takeover was successful.

But with that not happening (yet) the group have sent a message to the Premier League about the failed attempt.

The Chronicle reports that some members of the group were at St. James’ Park last night and unveiled two new flags associated with the Amanda Staveley led takeover.

One showed the Last Supper made up of the Premier League’s top clubs, where there seems no entry for tihers into their elitist club.

And the other with the face of Richard Masters.

Here are the two flags – and that’s CONTEMPT under Richard Masters photograph for the flag on the left.

Here is a blowup of the second flag – the last supper with only the top clubs in the league in attendance.

And a blowup of the Richard Masters flag.

A spokesman from the group had this to say to the Chronicle:

“The focus is on the contempt from the Premier League towards fans, and it’s just an expression, I guess, of the increasing frustration and anger that has been felt by pretty much everybody associated with the club.”

“And the complete lack of communication from the Premier League.”

“We know, obviously their hands are tied with some parts of this, but it feels like fans are the last thing that matters in this process.”

“It feels like as sort of Newcastle United supporters, we’re being treated with contempt by the Premier League.”

“There are two aims to this display essentially – one part of it is to keep that pressure up.

“So making sure that the pressure that has been built already so successfully by things like the petition, or by the Trust and their work reaching out to MPs.”

“That kind of combination of political pressure, which has been fantastic so far, it’s just adding something that maybe tries to keep the momentum going.”

“I suppose secondly, it’s where those things have been very focused on looking for clarity on the takeover, this is maybe more of an expression of or reminding people that this is also part of a much bigger issue.”

“That is the way that fans are seen by the football hierarchy in the UK, or in England anyway, which is sort of very much kind of last on the list.”

“If you think about the way fans’ feelings towards Ashley has been very clear for years, but there’s very little that you can do to force change and then when your perspective ownership is coming in suddenly.”

“Fans are being asked to take kind of particular moral stance or particular line when in practice, we have absolutely no say over any of this.

“The fact that there’s been no communication from the Premier League is a symptom of that.”

Excellent work here by the “Wor Flags” group and it will help to keep up the pressure on the English Premier League, which is looking more and more like an inwardly corrupt organization.

What do you think?

Never heard of Terence and Nelson Loh, had a quick look and it sounds like they are former investment bankers who have fingers in a lot of pies. They seem to have some money, too. Spent $350m buying a healthcare company a few years ago, but I can’t find their net worth listed anywhere.

fantastic banners fantastic supporters die hards, well done lads, the league as I see it and reading all the posts are even more corrupt then I first thought, I think the other 14 clubs should have a meeting on throwing out the top 6 clubs in the league and promote 6 clubs from the championship, these top 6 clubs should be put in the lowest league in the uk and made to sell there clubs, yeah I know its far fetched but by whats been going on this is the only way I can see to straighten this whole mess out, the trust of this league is gone finished, what will our fans feel when these clubs come to st james park, I honestly think theres going to be fans outside the ground and with these banners venting there fury and no violence please but we have to do something constructive to fight this corruption or the game is gone for good its as simple as that

Sad to say but unless the Saudis group pick up the cudgel this will run out of steam very soon. Why, where else can we go? Absolutely gutted about the whole affair. The letter from the P.L was farcical and I cannot help believing if the Saudis want to take us over, they could get barristers to pull that defence to bits and ram it to the P.L. I sincerely hope that will come about. That response to the M.P’s leaves so many questions unanswered, it almost asking for a challenge. The two most apparent are about the director, if appointed would the deal have passed? Was this pushed to get a refusal legitimately? Two, on the word of Ms Stavely the P.L were never going to make a decision, if this is true, are the P.L a capable organisation fit for purpose. That is just a couple of question which need bottoming to satisfy the fans, however I think the consortium may have moved on from this conundrum…..
