Report – Magpie Wanted By Spanish Club For Season-Long Loan

During his press conference for West Ham, Steve Bruce made it crystal clear that Yoshinori Muto was not going to play much of a part this season for Newcastle United. Bruce affirmed his belief that it was in the 28-year-old’s best interest to find another club.

Football Insider is now reporting that Muto is in advanced negotiations with La Liga’s Eibar. If accurate, he could be the second senior Magpie to move to La Liga on loan.

On Saturday it was confirmed that Florian Lejeune would spend this season with Alaves. Now we could see Muto head to Lejeune’s old club Eibar for this season.

Lee Ryder with The Chronicle confirms the interest from Eibar but suggests that a deal is yet to be agreed on.

Muto is now entering his third season with Newcastle since his £9.5m move from Mainz in the summer of 2018. He’s made just 28 appearances in that time including only 10 last season. He’s managed only 2 goals.

He still has two years to run on his contract but there’s probably not much interest in a permanent deal for the Japanese striker at the moment. The best-case scenario seems to be for Muto to head out on loan where he can hopefully resurrect his career and draw some interest next summer.

Time will tell mate but my positivity over the last week has shot up. I think we haven’t seen the last of the incomings just yet. I know we have loans we can bring in but I’m talking about a surprise signing with more money being spent, always said I think we will get a surprise and maybe the Soumare links had a bit more truth to it than I first realised.

This is the endgame of Ashley

Cracking result last night, surprised by the selection also. Carroll obviously won’t play all the games and his replacement should be joe for when he breaks down.

I’d drop Shelvey for Almiron and bring hendrick central.

Not sure where Soumare would fit into the squad in all honesty

If we’re spending top dollar we need to be buying better players than what we already have ie Joelinton

He said the consortium have bought into the club, up to 49% of shares as cant be said no to, the PIF are already supplying money for transfers, ones made and another 40 million or so for more this window. Also new Gym being built at training ground

Absolutely buzzing about yesterday, can’t remember the last time we controlled an away game like that in the premiership… So much potential, imagine that side of it can gel, remember that was a side thrown together with 3 new signings barely in a week, a striker who has only had cameos last season really and a sub keeper having to come in too… Fair play for Bruce going 442 also, that was bold imo, I’d rather Hendrick in the middle though and as much as Manquillo is getting better by the game I think Krafth will make the right back slot his own over time as he’s the more defensive, Manquillo is brilliant as wing back, not so good as a full back where discipline is key.

James didn’t say the work on the new facilities had started he said they had been agreed as part of a 49% purchases deal between Ashley and the Consortium,

Maybe that’s why Hendrick played right wing actually, he would be better at covering Manquillo when he bombs forward than Almiron would have been… Just a suggestion to find the method in the madness

Tottenham look a shambles. A midfield two of Hojberg and Winks is not good enough for a top 4 challenge.

He looked dodgy first half, wasn’t up to speed and to be expected for a recent signing with no real game time with the first team, the difference second half was day and night, being Irish I was delighted we got him, he’s a leader on the pitch too which we should see going forward, think he’ll surprise a few fans. Lewis too was a joy to watch, connected with ASM from the start, that’s a partnership to watch… Lewis will be a top top player and his running creating space for ASM was great to see, teams will have to think about him too, I can see ASM cutting in more with his runs and Lewis being the primary deliverer of the ball from wide and taking a man away from ASM when he dribbles… Exciting times, the right players for the right positions complimenting the right players, not so sure this is by accident, I tip my hat to Bruce if it is indeed intentional

We play Spurs in our 3rd game.

Currently they only have one proper ST and a packed schedule………… not trying to tempt fate or anything 🙂

    You’re right about Hojberg—-Winks, John.

Last time we played them a couple of months ago we were on top for most of the match. Son squeezed their only chance in the 1st half into the bottom corner.

Just checked the stats, we had 22 shots to their 8 and the majority of possession, but lost 3-1.

Tottenham kind of look like we did for the majority of last season. Haven’t created anything of note. I wonder if them getting rid of Poch is going to bite them like it did us getting rid of SBR.
