During his press conference for West Ham, Steve Bruce made it crystal clear that Yoshinori Muto was not going to play much of a part this season for Newcastle United. Bruce affirmed his belief that it was in the 28-year-old’s best interest to find another club.
Football Insider is now reporting that Muto is in advanced negotiations with La Liga’s Eibar. If accurate, he could be the second senior Magpie to move to La Liga on loan.
On Saturday it was confirmed that Florian Lejeune would spend this season with Alaves. Now we could see Muto head to Lejeune’s old club Eibar for this season.
Lee Ryder with The Chronicle confirms the interest from Eibar but suggests that a deal is yet to be agreed on.
Yoshinori Muto wanted on season long loan by Eibar, something #nufc may be open to but the deal is not agreed at this stage.

Muto is now entering his third season with Newcastle since his £9.5m move from Mainz in the summer of 2018. He’s made just 28 appearances in that time including only 10 last season. He’s managed only 2 goals.
He still has two years to run on his contract but there’s probably not much interest in a permanent deal for the Japanese striker at the moment. The best-case scenario seems to be for Muto to head out on loan where he can hopefully resurrect his career and draw some interest next summer.
