Bruce Speaks Of Changes In Press Conference Ahead Of Carabao Cup

Steve Bruce spoke to the press ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup tie against Blackburn. He again affirmed that the club will take the competition seriously despite this season being condensed.

Here is what Bruce said as tweeted by the Newcastle Twitter account.

Newcastle have been handed generous draws for the second and third rounds. If we get past Blackburn tomorrow, it’ll be either Morecambe or Oldham away for the third round.

Bruce will have to make some changes with this match coming just three days after the West Ham win. The head coach spoke about some of the changes he was pondering. It looks like it’ll be a debut for Ryan Fraser as well as a return for Ciaran Clark.

We also expect it could be a debut for Mark Gillespie in the Newcastle net. The local lad rejoined his hometown club in July after leaving 12 years ago.

Hopefully, Newcastle can continue their promising start to this campaign by advancing past Blackburn tomorrow evening. We expect it to be a tough match with a heavily rotated side but there should be enough strength in depth to get the job done.

In fairness Bruce took the cups seriously last season and will hopefully do same now. Patsy? I dont think so.

Atsu hopefully is another who’s been told he can leave.

Much rather have Murphy in the squad.

Should be fun. Fraser has looked like he is chomping at the bit. He will be out to prove himself and t’other three having such a good start just piles it on.

Cup side, hard to predict with the changes.

    Gillespie
    Kraft, Lascelles, Clark, Lewis
    S.Longstaff, Hayden
    Ritchie, Almiron, Fraser
    Joelinton

Although i’d like to see Joelinton on the left and possibly Barlaser, Murphy start

    Tsunki BS

You and maybe one other I know about do not want this one takeover to be completed. You are against the Saudis owning us, you just won’t admit it. Don’t come back at me with some speel about why you do want it because it’s BS”

Wow Mund – uncalled for and unwelcome as per usual you sparked up belligerant. I’m not coming back to you with anything if you want to just ignore the comment then jog right by. Whether I want a takeover or not I’m being realistic sorry if it urinates heavily on your chunky fries sonny but that’s how I see it. It’s nice being optimistic but it’s not always healthy to see the sunny side up and rack yourself up for constant embarrassment coupled with disappointment is it?

Don’t forget, whatever Ashley is or isn’t going to do, the PIF specifically said it wasn’t economically viable. As the economic situation hasn’t changed remarkably since then I’m guessing they won’t be back for a good while, if they are going to return.

I’m trying to glean some upside with regard to any money he might win. Shove that in your little pink box with your rainbow unicorn collection. 🙂

Bruce seems to be wavering between loan or keep Murphy so he might get a run out

Certainly makes the cup sides a bit more interesting seeing as this is probably last chance saloon for a few players to get themselves in the running for first team consideration. Proper competition too not this academy and reserves rubbish that’s no more challenging than non league football. 🙂

Murphy could do everyone a favour and decide if he’s going to be this great prospect or not. I think probably not though. Championship is his level i reckon sadly. Still remember his nice little Chip against city fondly though.

Almiron flanked by Murphy and Fraser behind Joe tomorrow I’d imagine

Hoping to see Barlaser get some time on the pitch, might be a good back up to Shelvey this season from the glimpses I have seen of him

You leave my rainbow unicorn collection out of this that’s a low blow even for you fella.

Ashley wouldn’t release that statement and go for the best sports lawyers around just for compensation.

He wants out and he wants the consortium in. It’s the only way he sees right now to get rid of the club

    @HD_07
In a counter to Mike Ashley’s move, @premierleague have hired Bobby Madley as a referee for all #NUFC matches.

    😀
