Steve Bruce Can Make Many Changes Tomorrow Night – And The Side Remains A Strong One

Games will be coming quick and fast this season, since it still needs to end on 23rd May after a late start.

The season kicked off about a month later than it usually does, because of the coronavirus pandemic, and the late finish to last season.

We got off to a terrific start on Saturday, with a very convincing 2-0 win at West Ham, but we still expect Bruce to change that side for tomorrow night’s game at home to Blackburn in the 2nd round of the League Cup.

Players like Gillespie, Krafth, Clark, Dummett (if fit), Longstaff (S), Ritchie, Almiron, new signing Fraser, and Joelinton could all start tomorrow night.

And the team would be almost as strong as the one Bruce played on Saturday, which shows the extra depth we have this season over last season.

Steve Bruce – will field strong side tomorrow night

Here is Neil’s team for tomorrow night and it’s a strong one:

This is some of what an upbeat Newcastle manager Steve Bruce said about tomorrow night’s game during his press conference this morning.

“We’ll take the League Cup seriously but we’re playing a lot more games together.”

“We have a squad, now. We had seven on the bench who would have got in the team last year.”

“I will make changes but I expect, with our strength, for us to get through.”

Results are everything in football, and we must try to go through to the next round tomorrow night, a defeat would be unacceptable after Saturday’s great performance.

Over 85% think we will win this game, so a defeat would not be good, and that’s an understatement.

There’s also a very decent chance we can have long runs in both local cups this season.

Maybe even win something this season.

Nah, I’m getting carried away again.

You’re like the self-appointed Jibfinder General. You’re actually obsessed, I’m convinced!

    Quite hilarious, honestly.

No way Wilson starts tomorrow, Joe all the way.
    Miggy, Fraser, Sean nailed on.

would like to see Francillette get a game at CB too, just to see where he is at with his development – was captain of the u23s at the weekend so a cup match vs a lower league side seems a decent risk to take to see if he can handle it. could leave fede or JL on the bench in case it goes Pete Tong quickly.

Should be ample quality to beat a Blackburn side who will also make changes.

If Clarke isn’t fit, move Krafth inside and play Yedlin.

    RobLeenio,
It’s been pretty obvious who he was for a few weeks now. Not using language like he just did. If you think that’s acceptable language then reads those posts from scott. Do you also think it’s acceptable to set up another account while your original one is under moderation?

should this ever go to court (sceptical myself), a fun little side show would be to subpoena all of the journalists who claimed to have sources and see them brick themselves on the stand for fear of perjury. They would basically have 2 options. Neither good. Admit they don’t have sources and made it all up or give the name of the sources and highlight who broke confidentiality. Now that would be interesting

This is a snippet about Richard Masters from Wikpedia.:
    Premier League[edit]
Richard Masters was appointed as the Chief Executive of the Premier League in November 2019,[2] following a year-long interim period in the position after the previous incumbent Richard Scudamore’s resignation in December 2018.[3] Richard Masters’ role of Chief Executive was created after Richard Scudamore’s Executive Chairman role was split into the two roles of Chief Executive and Chairman following Scudamore’s resignation.[4] Whilst Gary Hoffman was appointed as the new Chairman on 24th April, 2020,[4] Richard Masters retains authority as holding the highest position at the Premier League, with his other responsibilities including leading negotiations on new media rights contracts, resolving club disputes and ownership issues, and overseeing operations.[5]

Richard Masters was the Premier League’s fourth choice for the role, following a protracted recruitment process that involved Susanna Dinnage, Tim Davie and David Pemsel all being offered, but later declining the position.[6][5] There were accusations that the biggest teams in the Premier League held too much influence over the process, with Liverpool and Manchester United alleged to have held private talks with candidates chosen by the Premier League’s official nominating committee, before deciding whether or not to enact their unofficial veto over the decision.[5]

Smacks of corruption? FOURTH CHOICE for Chief Executive!!! WHY- turned out to be a poor choice or perhaps a compromise?
Big teams like Liverpool and Man Utd thought to hold too much influence over selection process!!!!
Another thing for Mr DiMarco to get his teeth into

    FA cup .
Don`t Blackburn have a bit of a voodoo sign against us, i`m sure they have knocked us out the cup twice recently.

Wolves have two English players in their 18 tonight and one of those is a backup goalkeeper who I don’t think has featured in the league for them once.

There really does need to be rules brought in to have a minimum amount of English players in a teams starting 11.

Yeah his services will be needed more in the PL games, and yes, especially against the likes of Brighton where 3 points is there for the taking.
I would,nt risk Wilson against players in the lower leagues who want a big injury scalp to brag about,if you know what i mean.

It is understood that last week there was a meeting between the bid team and the Premier League with the UK Government also understood to have been involved at some level. Again there was no resolution, which prompted Newcastle’s statement. [Jason Burt] #nufc

Off topic but just a thought. After looking at the toon’s rebuttal to the P/L they state the ” owners ” of the club, plural, not singular? I wonder if there is a little sideline going on. Also I wonder if PIF bought 49% of the club in shares, still leaving the majority to TFCB and left it for a few months, then the Reubens bought 10>15% from TFCB, followed by another buy out by Stavely later on would the P/L be able to do anything about it as Ashley would still have some shares in the club? Possession is 9/10ths of the law, this is a totally different scenario to the last attempt.
