Report – Newcastle Touted With Surprising Interest In Liverpool Striker

The Mirror is reporting that Fenerbahce have enquired about taking Liverpool striker Divock Origi on loan this season. However, they name a quartet of Premier League clubs including Newcastle as having an interest in the 25-year-old.

Newcastle have reportedly enquired about a loan move for Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster as well. Though, a decision on the 20-year-old’s future at Liverpool is up in the air at the moment. There have also been claims Brewster could be available for a permanent move at the hefty price tag of £25m.

Reports that Origi could also be on the move is surprising as he’s scored some crucial goals for Liverpool over the years and has gained a cult status amongst the fan base. However, he is not first-choice and made only 7 starts in the league last season and just 4 the season before.

The Mirror says the Belgian international could be open to a move away from Anfield for a chance at first-team football. According to claims from Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Fenerbahce are the first to attempt to get the striker in.

Konur says that Liverpool could sanction a loan move for Origi if it included a loan fee as well as a mandatory purchase clause. The journalist’s claim that the transfer fee would be just £14m seems very low to us.

Origi has four years left on his current contract. He joined Liverpool from Lille in 2014 for around £11m. At Anfield, he’s made 140 appearances with 34 goals but has played second fiddle to Liverpool’s outstanding front three over the past few seasons.

The other Premier League clubs cited with an interest are Aston Villa, Brighton, and Fulham. We would think Newcastle would be a much more enticing destination that those three or Fenerbahce.

clearly he’s better than Muto / AC / JL but not the world beater some on here seem to be thinking.

Whilst he’s a bit of a cult hero at Liverpool because of his important goals in a few big games ( a bit like Shola at toon), they won’t be sorry to see him go due to his inconsistency and the inability to push on to become a regular first teamer.

I think we will see a lot of transfers happening in the next 2 weeks as teams will be starting to freakout seems there is going to be a scramble on for Brewster and Origi

Our business has been good but its incomplete if we don’t get another striker in and either a CB or a creative midfielder

I hope we are dropping Gayle from the squad till January to make space as well

There is no need for this to go to a court room. Our QC’s simply go through the O&D test with the PL lawyers and they will prove with the evidence it should have been passed in May. That process could be taken care of in one month.

Hoffman deliberately sabotaged the deal. A man who worked for Barclays, (who borrowed £300 million from Qatar), and also have strong links with Qatar through trips and other business dealings.

If Ashley takes the PL to court, then he will still win, but it means he also wants to expose their corruption publicly. If it goes to court it could take a year to deal with. No one wants that.

The PL don’t want to go anywhere near a court room.

This deal will pass when one obstacle is removed. Not whether PIF are part of the Saudi state. As WHO have already proved legally they are not.

The only obstacle that needs removing is Hoffman. Then the deal will pass, as it meets ALL criteria set out in the O&D test.

Apologies for going against group think Hibbitt. BTW, I don’t think Bruce is a better mgr than benitez. Sorry to mention the logic of stats, points, place in league, ie the stats that matter over one season. 🙂

Munster/Darnik – good luck with the firestick , used to have kodi a while back but had to forever upgrade plugins due to them getting closed down, was great when it worked though.

10 quid for tonights game is a bit steep – think I’ll give it a miss

    last note on Bruce..
He has spent a lot on both loan players and perms ( last couple of windows ), seems to have bought well this window although last seasons loans were pretty much awful.
He can now play the type of football he wants with his own team so I’d expect him to gain a lot more points and be top ten going on the logic on here.
In reality it’s more likely we’ll score same amount, play some shite football and end up around the same place in the league give or take +/- 2 places … I’d be okay with that because under Ashley we’ll be highly unlikely do any better

Just sit tight, enjoy the positivity, look forward to more signings and get behind the lads at every opportunity.

Enjoy the scorching heat (right now) have a bit of family time. Get a barbecue going have some drinks and smile. It’s rare we get to do that as a fan, just relax and enjoy the good times.

In the background it slowly but surely works towards that resolution that we all hoped for it to be snatched away.

The hope has been revitalised in the last week and fans now are starting to believe this will happen.

We have power houses backing this takeover, with some of the most frightening lawyers in the sports world and throughout.

Even the government have been applying there own pressure and had someone be part of the last push to get approved to no prevail.

The biggest surprise is the ally we have in Ashley who will push this as far as he needs to which I doubt will have to do that far.

It’s only a matter of time so for now just enjoy the good feelings we have and hopefully get to enjoy more good results throughout this season.

    @MoneyMikeAshley
What I’ve learned in this game is never say never. Nothings a sure thing, think we all know that now.

Can’t say you are ‘100% certain’ with regards to something happening, unless you are the one making the final call. Until it’s done, anything can happen.

    Munster.

Plebs like Gail for Ashley (4eva), Titbit, Mindshat, Retardo. Are exactly that, PLEBS.

They fully believe in hive mentality, go against one go is going against them all, its an incurable leftist deseas.

You can tell them why you don’t like something, it could be anything, and they tell you your wrong.

I don’t give 2 hoots whether they like Rafa or not, but to try and make up facts to justify why we played crap football is Utter madness, he plays defensive football, everywhere he has been, but somehow it’s Ashley’s fault.

    The mind boggles.

Rafa, he is failing in China because of his philosophy on football, 14 games into a new season he is 6th out of 8. He had half a season last year and finished exactly where he took over. He is not a good coach. If he was, he would do better with what he had, but instead it was constant whinging on.

This season is all about Bruce, now he has his team and no, dare to say his name again.
Let’s see how Big Balls Brucey does this season, compare this season with last season, who cares about three, four and five seasons ago.

    Catchy,

I think if Rafa’s team had played 14 games the season would be over would it not?
But feel free to skew the stats to fit your narrative!

It looks like they’ve played 11 by the table.
