Steve Bruce May Give A Chance To French Bad Boy

News in the Chronicle today that Newcastle United are giving a trial to 23-year-old Frenchman Florent Indalecio.

The number 10 player has played in some of the Newcastle U23 games, after he seems to have made a right mess of his career in France, through bad behavior and being cheeky to the coaches.

A big challenge for Steve Bruce?

He was at St. Étienne, but he was sacked by the French club, for bad behavior.

He is trying to get back into football to resurrect his career, and maybe Steve Bruce fancies his chances on signing the withdrawn (number 10) striker, and see if he can get the best out of him.

There would be little risk here, since he’s a free agent and his wages would not be high.

And he scored a fabulous goal in training recently, which is now doing the rounds on the internet.

23-year-old Frenchman Florent Indalecio, when at St Étienne

You can see the goal on the Chronicle website here.

The 23 year-old admits to his poor attitude and behavior when he spoke earlier this year to the French media:

“I had bad behavior, I was a rowdy and cheeky student. I was fired from the center two weeks before the end of the course.”

“The coaches did not want to keep me, football was not enough. I was too young, and at that time I didn’t realize it.”

The lad seems to be talented, but it’s not just about skill.

He must show he is willing to be professional, if the famous North East club (that’s Newcastle) gives him a contract.

Steve Bruce doesn’t take any nonsense from his players, so the Magpies may be a good club for the 23 year-old to show he can make it in the very  tough Premier League in England.

Is he worth a chance?

Maybe.

Let’s hope he has more success with this ‘bad boy’ if he signs him than he did with HBA at Hull, another given that label.

Surprised Bruce didn’t get him on side by developing their bond over mutual love of kebabs.

The first – and only, I think – time he started him, HBA covered less ground than the Hull City GK and was hooked at HT.

    Why the hate for Bruce?

Newcastle fan and seems a genuinely nice guy. Was tipped to fail and at worst, matched the previous year. Made smart signings and will hopefully have a good year.

I get the Ashley haters, I’m one of them but personal insults to Bruce, I do not understand.

I think the Longstaff’s would benefit most from a season in the championship. Playing 30-40 games week in week out at a slightly lower level would benefit them massively. They’ll barely get any games now we have Hendrick.

S Longstaff has always been overrated in my opinion, only quality I see in him is a decent shot on him.. Distinctly average at best for everything else… I would of bit Man utd hand off when there was talk they where interested for 30 million

Let’s see how the season pans out before we start praising or hating Bruce … Very early days but a promising start against a terrible West ham side and a terrible game but a win last night against a champo side … Brighton looked decent against Chelsea although lost to a couple of wonder goals – can Bruce out tactic Potter – surely we have better players

That huge lad from Blyth who plays for Brighton, Dan Burn, was on the bench against Chelsea.

Got to be one of the oddest LBs ever at 6ft6. Played CB for most of his career until last season.

Chances are he will be playing to try and help nullify AC.

I wish they had shipped Joelinton out instead of Muto, he has had more than enough chances in the first team, in my opinion this guy is never going to make it in the premier league no matter what position you play him in, he just doesnt have the quality to cut it in the premier league Callum Wilson done more in one match than Joelinton done in a whole season and you could see his goal threat everytime he got the ball with his pace and power and skill, qualitys Joelinton does not possess or never will in a million years unfortunately. I don’t believe for a minute that anyone in their right mind would pay £40m for Joelinton.

This must be one of those rare issues on which (just about) every poster is united: Joelinton is (1) useless and (2) cannot possibly have cost the £40m which we hear every single time. This is just not possible.
