Bruce Confirms Five Magpies Out For Brighton

Steve Bruce has given his press conference ahead of Sunday’s match against Brighton. Of course, he was initially asked for an update on the injury front. The good news is there are no surprises as he names four Magpies who are still out.

Allan Saint-Maximin went down with a knock to his knee late in the Blackburn match. However, after the game, Bruce immediately alleviated any fears about his star man by affirming that the Frenchman was ok.

Bruce didn’t name Dwight Gayle, who is out for four months with his knee injury, as he’s not close to a return. Though, it appears that the four he named are making progress.

The big one is Martin Dubravka, who is expected back early next month from his foot injury. Paul Dummett, Fabian Schar, and Matty Longstaff are likely not first-teamers at the moment though will have a part to play when they return.

Ciaran Clark made his return after eight months on Tuesday against Blackburn. It’s been an even longer spell for Dummett who went down in January. He returned after lockdown to train with the squad but had a set back in pre-season.

So all in all, it’s a decent injury update wth no new casualties to report after our first two matches of the campaign.

For those of you in the States, it looks like NBC has moved 90% of the games to the Peacock platform now. It’s worth paying the $5 a month I think. Tomorrow’s game will be on there and next week’s game too. Looks like I’ll be able to watch even more of our games live this season, which is definitely a bonus 🙂

Ron Knee – indeed they are. Watch next week’s game tomorrow, then get yourself down to the bookies, place the bet, pays for your Peacock subscription. So technically it’s free!

Where posters like Big Archie and TDSarf let themselves down, aside from their odious and unwavering support for our portly owner, is the gross exaggeration’s they make. TDSarf will claim that fans expect to compete with M City and spend 200M a season, Big Archie claiming that fans are saying he’s taking out 100’s of millions a season. Nobody is suggesting any such thing but it is very naive or just downright ignorant to suggest he isn’t making a tidy profit each year from the multitude of different companies he has the club split into
