Report – Magpie Closing In On Move To Turkey

Sky Sports is reporting that DeAndre Yedlin is not training with Newcastle today as he seeks a move to Turkish club Besiktas.

On Friday, Sky Sports revealed Besiktas were interested in bringing the American in on a free despite Yedlin having another year left on his contract.

A move away for Yedlin has been a constant source of speculation this summer with links to a return to the MLS also doing the rounds.

Steve Bruce downplayed the report claiming it was pure speculation during his press conference for Brighton. Yedlin was spotted in the training images released by the club on Saturday.

Yedlin was not named to the matchday squad for yesterday’s debacle. However, he did start in the Carabao Cup win against Blackburn on Tuesday.

The sticking point right now appears to be that Newcastle are trying to negotiate a fee for the 27-year-old, who joined four years ago from Tottenham.

Bruce had recently claimed that it was unhealthy for there to be three right-backs at the club. With Yedlin third in the pecking order, it’s looking like he could be next Magpie out the door the summer.

Only a few more to go and Brucie will have his own team at last.

Got to hope we are suddenly going to get quality players in who can do the coaching for Brucey boy

These comments from Brighton fans post game sums it up

‘Potter 10 – Took the Dinosaur Bruce to the slaughterhouse and put him down. My Geordie supporting mate called it when he saw their line-up. 4-4-2 was either arrogance, stupidity or suicide.’

‘Brilliant for the second season running at St James Park to see Steve Bruce completely bemused by what was happening in front of him. Potter totally schooled him today.’

‘I think PL management is too advanced for Brucey . . . He looked like a neanderthal who’d just been defrosted. On the touch line.’

I agree with an earlier poster who said Bruce`s tactics will ruin young Lewis, it looks like it has already started.
This lad is a quality wing back who, given the right formation , would be tremendous going forward, can beat a man with ease.
How many times did he get into Brighton`s half yesterday? The dinosaur will ruin the lads confidence through his own shallow approach and ineptness.

This article pretty much sums it up for me we have to 3 at the back again Bruce changing formation hasn’t made us attacking at all its just made it easier for the opposition to attack us! Its entertaining for the neutral but not for the Toon

Op, yes please, but not for Rafa.

Let’s get a good coach in, I don’t mind from what league. A good coach is a good coach.

Potter started carrer in Sweden, and whilst he has a poor record at Brighton, he plays decent football

You are right mate, i did not see the Burnley game.
I think they will struggle this season, as will Villa and Fulham, but we will be in the mix with them if the last 2 games are anything to go by.
Apart from the West Ham game, we are carrying on where we left off at the end of last season, shite.

    catchy,
You think I enjoyed that yesterday, us getting relegated isn’t going to be the magic fix you thought by wishing it on Pardew and Rafa. If we go down we’re most likely to stick with Bruce if he isn’t gone by then and any chance of a sale goes out of the window. No catchy, we’ll leave the wishing we lose down to you and your warped perception.

No one hates Brucie or wants Newcastle to lose, that’s just stupid. Everyone just hates what he represents. That he’s undeserving and that his ineptness and cluelessnes is the height and epitomy of our ambition.

I really wouldn’t be against us going back to a 3 at the back so long as we played with our wing backs further advanced. Previously they’ve formed an almost flat 5 when In reality in the attacking stage they should form part of a midfield. I think Willems did a very good job of that in a small sample size, as evidenced by the goals he got himself. Lewis on paper should be more than capable of that as he started his career as a left mid and it’s a role Manquillo is more than suited too.

We really need a play maker in midfield, if we are clearing house to make room I’m hoping that we have someone on the radar that can come in and be that player.
Looking at yesterday’s game, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get another center back, play maker mid and striker.
I’m still not sure if RF can cover any of the last two positions, but I do know that big Joe cannot, Andy if like a period, on once a month off for the remaining.
Yes only one game, so we shouldn’t lose our minds, but no shots on goal the whole game at home, really want Dubs back, I feel better with dubs between the posts.

We would be better placed comparing Bruce to a manager we could potentially get and who would take the job under Ashley ( so that already rules Rafa out ).

I don’t think Bruce will last the season out if the last 9 games are anything to go by ( inc last six of last season , although I could add more).

    Names on a list please…. 😀

With Bruce it isn’t actually any good saying we are only a couple of games into the season hes had a whole pre season and we are playing just as bad as we did before last season finished!

Hes now had loads of new players in and we just look the exact same

The team would probably be better if him and his coaching staff worked from home probably wouldn’t notice that much

Reading the Brighton fans comments on Bruce was pretty much what every other fan thinks of him, got to admit though, i did laugh at some of the comments, they got a good soh those Seagull supporters.
Got them finishing in 12th, lets see how it pans out for them.
I don`t have a problem with that club, seems to be a bloody good set up, well ran, with an owner who has ambition.
Then you look at us and think erm….

Must admit that I’ve been thinking the same about the taking of the knee.

Seems to me that it’s becoming more of a ritual that’s losing some of it’s original meaning.

The message is most definitely in the publics mind and there’s the will to keep it there without players having to demonstrate it in every game.

In the same way we don’t go out every Thursday night to clap for the essential workers, we still appreciate their efforts.

Incidentally our lads nearly slipped prior to the WH game by forgetting to take the knee and going straight to KO before the ref reminded them.
So it’s not in the forefront of the players minds.

    – – – – – –

Nail on the head there. I think Catchy is the only one with hate for people. It’s so obvious he’s sticking up for the guy who followed Rafa. It doesn’t matter if they play worse football than pardew, the guy just hates rafa. You can’t really deal rationally with someone like that when the factual evidence against them is so overwhelming.
