Bruce Talks About Transfers, Morecambe And “Tactics” Against Top Clubs During Press Conference

Steve Bruce has given his press conference at 12:15 this afternoon for the game at Tottenham on Sunday, which has a 2:00 pm kickoff time.

Bruce touched on many subjects.

He talked on the transfer market, but that he needed to move some players out before he brought more in.

The three obvious ones that he needs to move out are Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Henri Saivet.

The last two being simply awful acquisitions by the club, and they have never been good enough.

But they are on the Newcastle payroll, and the very least Bruce wants to do is to get them out on loan.

Bruce also talked about the game at Morecambe which was a very satisfying win by 7-0.

That was a relief given the awful performance in the previous game at home to Brighton lat Sunday when we lost 3-0.

He also talked about playing against big clubs like Tottenham.

Bruce said we are not good enough to go head to head with them, so we have to think of some tactics whereby we can win or draw.

But tactics seem to be one of Bruce’s weaknesses, while it was Rafa’s big strength, so that insight by the manager will hardly cheer up the long-suffering Newcastle fans.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce

Here’s some of what Steve Bruce said in his press conference today, starting with possibly  more players coming in:

“We’re never going to say never.”

“The big clubs haven’t finished yet.

“If there’s something which can improve us, we’ll always look to do it.

“But we need 1 or 2 to leave the building to do that”

“The players did everything asked of them at Morecambe.”

“If they sensed an opportunity to get into the team then they’ve performed that way. Let’s hope I do my bit on Sunday by picking the right team.”

“We can’t think we can go and play against the top teams and match them just in a game of football.”

“We have to do something different, tactically. We did it well against the top teams last year.”

“Let’s hope we can do the same again this year.”

And not many of us think we can win the game at Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

Bur a win would be stupendous!

For those who don’t speak Brucese (where different = the same), we’ll be playing the park the bus + hoof the ball against Spurs this weekend.

Cheers for that mate. 48 is no age, so sad.

By the way, there are umpteen vids on Youtube about remedies for brightening up headlights.
Sometime the homemade ones are better, and cheaper than buying a proper polishing kit.

If you decide to sort the problem yourself it WILL be a chew on. What car you driving ?

He claims its Toxic on here, I wonder if he ever thinks he brings it on himself.

Its the same old people dragging the same shit up then playing the victim card, no doubt we’re all bullies and not allowing them their say. Funny thing is you can’t shut the c£&$ up.

I’ve come to realise there’s not much point arguing with them, they’re opinionated and make themselves look stupider than anyone else ever could.

The worst of it for me is when pointed out on these things he has no empathy or remorse for maybe upsetting someone with that word.

He can’t say nothing to anyone now about how they are on the blog when saying the things he has done. He is a prick and first class WUM

Talking about vile things, did you all hear about the obnoxious vitriol thrown at Joelinton after he posted on Instagram because he was pleased to score goals for the Toon. He had to shut things down because some so-called “fans” bombarded him with horrible comments.
That is inexcusable. What is it with these people?
Do I think Joe tries. Yes.
Do I think Joe has played well overall? No.
Do I think he’s worth his alleged fee? No sign so far.
Will I boo him when he wears the black and white? NO!
He knows well enough that he’s not done the business but that doesn’t justify rampant hatred. Some people are so rabid about a player that they can’t bear it if he does well / improves / scores etc. because it doesn’t suit their prejudices.
I’ve seen too many players have a stinker of a first season but improve to become favourites. Collocini, Darren (Sharon) Peacock etc. and others who have been given the heave-ho to become stars elsewhere – Jon-Dahl Tomasson, Florian Thauvin and so on.
Come on guys. Not true Toon fan behaviour.

Canny result for the U23s today, away to Burnley in Premier League 2. It finished 1-3 for the lads, with two goals for Stan Flaherty, an 18 year-old attacking midfielder who signed for us from the Arsenal academy in January, and one for Ludwig Francillette, the 6’4″, 20 year old centre back who we signed from a French regional team 18 months ago and continues to impress.

Burnley had Ashley Barnes in the team, too – that’s a good test for any defence, let alone a reserve team.

Bruce is a nice bloke, the kinda guy you could have a jolly with over a few beers, but, he ain`t a good manager, and even admits he does`nt do tactics. What a thing for any manager to say, never mind one at a PL club.

Hang on when did big Joe actually try? I must of missed that game.

Abuse by fans is uncalled for and they are bang out of order and should be ashamed.

He does deserve criticism tho and he hasn’t been no where near good enough and to me is stealing a living
