After some weeks of negotiations, Rodrigo Vilca will travel to Newcastle on Thursday to complete his move to the Magpies.
The fee is in the range of £250K-£400K.
Newcastle had originally offered £250M for the 21-year-old but his club wanted more, so we think it’s at most £400K for the young playmaker.
Newcastle are said to have a development plan in place for the youngster, and he will at least stay on Tyneside until the end of the year to settle in at Newcastle.
And we’re sure our other South American Miggy Almiron will help him do that – and so will Newcastle icon Nobby Solano.
The lad has been called a wonder-kid, so we will see what he can do.
And if he plays well when he comes over he could even get a chance in the Newcastle first team before the end of the year.
The plan seems to be to take a look at him, and if he needs to be shipped out on loan to an English club that can be done during the January transfer window.
The division will depend on how he looks in training and playing for the Newcastle U23 side.
This is a low risk signing for Newcastle and really a no-brainer.
There’s a lot of upside to the deal and very little downside for Newcastle.
