    Regan,

I read his interview where he said he aspires to be playing in europe and stuff.

And then next thing, he’s signed a 6 year deal, seems a bit odd mate.

Could be nothing mate as there’ll of been a sweetener pay rise in there

In my opinion if Bruce picks the correct team and plays positive attacking football we have a great chance of winning, but if he resorts to type and plays nagative defencive football with everyone behind the ball looking to fluke at best a draw we will get chinned, also with the players we have available at the moment there is no way he should be picking Joelinton in the starting eleven in my view.

Joelinton is a player who works hard both ways, and has a big physical presence, and who is starting to find his feet in a more withdrawn attacking midfield role, and he’s also been in Newcastle working with the squad these past two weeks, unlike Almiron and Fraser, plus he cost 40 million quid, so he’ll very likely start. To me he’s gonna be a part of our best 11 this term. He’s literally always fit, and can operate anywhere behind Wilson.

Maybe there is something in this project what Maxi speaks of and why I think there could be as we have lost good players for the lack of ambition and any project. It was the same old crap year in year out going absolutely nowhere.

But now our star player has been told of a project that will match his ambitions, which he only spoke about days before about wanting to play in Europe and one day the Champions league.

Maybe behind the scenes the consortium and Ashley are pretty confident it will be approved in due time.

With all that tho he was on only 40K a week and he is by far our best player but time will tell if such a project exists

    Mund,

I’d like to think his new contract is part of a bigger plan also mate.

It’s certain that Ashley has ok’d his new deal.

Whether it’s with the blessing of the PIF will become evident in due course.

It’s easy to read into things, but when he mentions europe and then signs up it makes you think something is in the pipeline. He could just refuse new contract and treble his wages down the big smoke when they come in for him, which they will if he continues to perform.

He seems like a bright spark so would he fall for the typical Ashley/Charnley promises that have been peddled before?

I remain optimistic about the takeover mate

A slight change to the wording makes

‘But now our star player has been told of a project [the takeover] that may or may not come to fruition and could [will] match his ambitions, which he only spoke about days before about wanting to play in Europe and one day the Champions league’

A couple of words changed and optimism becomes realism.

In any event, we live in hope that the dream comes true.

Compare Owen to Tino, Sir Les, Andy/Andrew, that guy who creosotes his fence and quite a few others. No where near. They wanted to play for us.

My wife has just come in with a sore throat. I had to tell her that I have eaten all the ginger, the bees reclaimed their honey and the lemons jumped off a cliff

(by the way, do that in a cafeteria great help for sore throat)

Czech treatment for a sore throat. Pint of boiling water, a great big bit of ginger finely chopped and a lemon or two again sliced very fine and 2 big tablespoons of honey.

Forget lemsip etc, this is the business
