Bruce Makes Three Changes With One Surprise In Our Predicted Eleven For Manchester United

This is the team we think Steve Bruce will name for tomorrow evening’s match against Manchester United. It has 3 changes from the win against Burnley two weeks ago.

With Ryan Fraser, Miguel Almiron, and Jeff Hendrick featuring heavily for their countries over the past two weeks, Bruce could field a squad consisting mainly of the players he’s worked with over the past few weeks.

That would mean Joelinton keeps his place after his good run of form over the past month. However, we have him starting on the left with Allan Saint-Maximin on the right. Jeff Hendrick would get a rest after three straight starts for the Republic of Ireland.

A surprise selection could be Sean Longstaff who hasn’t featured much in the league during this campaign. He played his best football as a number 10 last season so maybe he gets a rare league start on Saturday.

Jamaal Lascelles returns from his hamstring injury so Bruce’s preferred center back pairing with Federico Fernandez resumes once again. Javier Manquillo comes back into the team at right-back though we wouldn’t be surprised if Bruce stuck with Emil Krafth, who was excellent against Burnley.

Thankfully, Jamal Lewis is fine after missing out in Northern Ireland’s 1-0 loss at Norway. Bruce revealed during his press conference that it was pre-arranged so Lewis should get another start tomorrow.

Of course, Karl Darlow remains in goal after his superb start filling in for our reigning Player of the Season Martin Dubravka. Long may it last as Martin will now be out for another 5 to 6 weeks with his heel injury.

Your line up would be a sensible one to make with only really Lewis not trained out of all of the players so there should be some cohesion in our play

Bruce does need to make a call on who will be our no 10 is and give them a run in the team Joelinton did well there against Burnley so let him get a few games in a row there

If not give Sean a run and see how he gets on or Almiron just give them game time to get into the groove all of them offer something different

Do people not realise how bad Man U are this season, they are in complete disarray for some reason. They are definitely there for the taking and we need to ho at them. He’s talked about strength on the wings well now is the time to play Max and Fraser at the same time, surely Fraser is match fit now.

Remember when we done them 3-0 that Monday night, it’s going to be the same.

Seems like a sensible starting line-up. Id wait start with that and then if either Sean or Joelinton aren’t playing too well by half time, swap one out for Fraser. Sean for Fraser and swap him round with Joe or straight swap if Joe comes off.

Think you’re right Jail, Man U for whatever reason seem like the’re in a complete mess and we should go right at them from the off. Let them know they’re in for a tough game and knock their confidence nice and early.

Not a fan of Longstaff as no10, it maybe his best position, but I don’t recall him playing much in that position unless it was against weak opposition in the cups. Much like Murphy looks better when he’s given loads of space and easy passing options against these weaker teams. Too slow in the head for me and always looks to shoot. Had a great opportunity to put someone through with a first time ball, against Burnley, didn’t even look like he was aware.
The is personal peeve for me when players have a simple pass on to put a player in one on one, but choose a hopeful low percentage long shot.

For me Joelinton is our best no10 from a football brain/unselfish passing point of view.

Lobby hasn’t played enough as number 10 for any fan to say he isn’t good enough there.

For me it’s his best position he just needs more playing time

Fair enough Mund, I’d agree we haven’t seen him there enough, but I’ve seen enough of his slow turning and unawareness of peripheral players when he’s playing deep with more space, to judge the kind of no.10 he’d be.

He reminds me of Dummett in that he has the skills to make a short/long pass or shoot/cross and if he knows what he’s going to to do before he gets to the ball then great, but if he has to think on the spot then it’s panic time Dummett more so obviously.

With Fraser fit and in some form, I wonder if SB will play him behind Wilson with Almo and Maxo playing out wide?
Leaving the out of form Joelinton on the bench.
Longstaff has Tonsilitis, so we’re short in midfield – cue Schar on subs bench?

Sadly Sean Longstaff won’t be involved as he’s got Tonsillitis!
