Perhaps we should play the womens team, they’ve scored 19 goals in their last two games and conceded none! 🙂

Bruce being allowed to stand in any area known as ‘technical’ is a bigger dupe than ‘trickle down economics’

I’ve been very patient with Bruce but I cant watch anymore of this.

Joelinton is a shell of his former self from Hoffenheim. If we keep mismanaging him we will have successfully destroyed the career of a player that was expected and was showing signs of outperforming Firmino at Hoffenheim. He should be playing number 10 supporting wilson.

I never want to see Hendrick play ahead of Miggy again. I’d rather play Fraser on the right as he’s a good lad that cant sit on the bench even with ASM.

Manquillo needs to start. Kraft doesnt have the pace.

Shelvey should be used smarter. In games where we know we need 2 engines in midfield he should stay on the bench. He should play the games we can match teams in for sure though.

We need to stop giving every team too much credit and start actually trying to play football against them. It’s embarassing and a complete diservice to our better players.

My preferred line up for wolves

    GK
    Manquillo – Lascelles – Fernandez – Lewis
    Hayden – Shelvey
    Miggy – Joelinton – ASM
    Wilson

Looking at the table Leeds and Villa are above us while Man Ure and Wolves are below. Swap them round and the table has some semblance of normality. Unfortunately that leaves us treading water just above the relegation places.

    Gloomy like the fecking weather.

Moutinho is similar in terms of pace and build than Shelvey but seems to always have time on the ball and plays the simple pass

You wonder if Shelvey is under instruction to just hoof it when he gets it or hes lost the confidence in his ability to play the simple pass?

We would get on so much better if we just tried to keep it for a couple of passes

Oh they’re gonna have to change the offside rule somehow. That was a great goal by Wolves overturned by var. millimetres offside; no advantage gained. Ridiculous! They need to make it there must be daylight between the attacker and defenders.

Bruce seems to focus on keeping the dressing room onside by always picking the same players and getting them new contracts.
Sometimes I think there is a risk when swapping a defensive coach for an attacking coach when the players are not the best, but this doesn’t apply to us as we are neither defensive or attacking, we just get everyone behind the ball with no pressure on the ball/marking or awareness of movement.
Bruce is like Pardew without the confidence or positivity. On a par with the excuses like.

Without ASM we have no idea how to Break or Score. We are going to have to rely on ‘undesrved’ points again this season to stay up.
If the Wilson shot had gone in and we had desperately held on, we could have stole them yesterday.
But these kind of results rely on every shot on target being a goal and the goalie having a worldy.
Would have been hilarious if we had won 1-0 yesterday with no shots on target.

Hard not to look at the table after 5 games and think we are sitting about where we’ll finish.

It’s not all Bruce’s fault. We aren’t a top half squad on relative depth, balance and quality. But we are certainly playing slightly less than the sum of our parts, and you can’t help think a better manager could edge us into the top ten where Bruce won’t.

Bruce can’t succeed at Newcastle and a better manager wouldn’t put up with the owner. It’s all pretty meaningless. He might as well open us up a bit more and give us a bit of entertainment at least.

Not open us up, that’s a folly, the opposition will just pass through us, but just play a little higher up the pitch, play the extra man in a three behind Wilson, not in defense or midfield, try to get on the ball more in the opponents half, stay compact and narrow when they have the ball, look for width when we have it.

Nicky. What?? Playing ‘slightly less’ than the sum of our parts.

Utter tosh man, we could perform so much better with a decent head leading us.

I know its been said before but when you look at Villa and Leeds etc or teams of a similar level you can’t look me in the eye and tell me position for position they have better players than us. One or two maybe but in no way have some of these teams got 11 better players.

They just have better managers to who know what they’re doing. Or at the very least look like they know what they’re doing.

    That’s the difference.

I’d love to see what a progressive head could do with our players, I think you’d be surprised.

Just watched the Leeds v Wolves match guys, they might be in the same division as us, but they are leagues apart, two very good teams with two great managers who are obviously very well coached, both teams playing on the front foot, both teams played with speed vision flair mobility technigue, everything you would associate with teams who had a clear plan and knew how to carry it out, we are simply light years behind these teams, and its frightening as the gap is getting bigger under Bruce, it was a pleasure to watch that match tonight, to be honest watching us at the moment under Bruce its an endurance test under Bruce.
