Newcastle United Issue Statement Calling Out Premier League Leaks

Newcastle United have issued the following statement in response to recent developments on their legal action against the Premier League.

“The Club has previously not commented on the arbitration it is pursuing against the Premier League (‘EPL’) with respect to its conduct relating to the proposed takeover because of the confidentiality clause in the EPL’s rules.

“However, the Club is aware of public reports which state that, on 17 November, the EPL referred to legal proceedings with the Club (e.g. social media posts referring to the “Club’s own legal case”) in a letter to Newcastle supporters.

“The source of some of the reporting is said to be the EPL. It appears, therefore, that the EPL has leaked the contents of their letter to some of those commenting in the public domain.

“The Club understands that these will be matters of great concern to its fans and therefore considers that, in light of the information disclosed by the EPL, it has no choice but to respond and update its fans in response to this coverage.

“The Club makes no comment on the substance of the arbitration, but it can confirm that it has issued arbitration proceedings against the EPL.

“It is unclear when those proceedings will be resolved, given the approach of the EPL and its lawyers, Bird & Bird. Nevertheless, the Club will continue to use its best efforts to press for a fair, full, and timely hearing of its claim.”

This statement alludes to the “substantive 9-page” letter that Newcastle Consortium Supporters Ltd. received from the league two days ago. The supporters’ group has taken legal action of their own against the EPL.

However, in that letter, the Premier League confirmed that Newcastle are involved in a live legal battle with the league. That revelation has apparently breached confidentiality as reported by Liam Kennedy in his Shields Gazette exclusive from yesterday.

Newcastle’s statement has admonished the Premier League for the leaks while confirming to fans that it has issued arbitration proceedings against the EPL over the failed Saudi-led takeover. While this doesn’t give us much as far as any developments in Newcastle’s case, it does cast an even more negative light on the questionable actions the league has taken.

Whilst I am still cautious I do think that because its arbitration that a sale is still on.
No need for the arbitration if it wasnt just a court case for lost revenue and damages
However I do understand anybody who is sceptical as we’ve been down the sale line too many times

Come on mate it’s tit for tat as Jail is renowned for the cheap shots.

But whatever I’m staying clear of any drama

To add what you said of course it’s up to easy individual fan to have there own perspective I say it enough and that’s ok because it’s there opinion and fans are guarded which I totally understand.

You can’t go calling them a pack of hounds.
They are just friends having a bit of banter at jail’s expense.
Remember the vegan is gone they need a new target.

just to clear up a misconception on the blog,
any claim for compensation would come after the result of arbitration tribunal was announced,

Evening all, it`s starting to hot up on the takeover front eh, so there is something going on after all.
I can understand Jail and his guarded view of this news, i have been the same for a few weeks, and understandably so, but this latest reveal , or rather confirmation, that their is legal action being taken , is very encouraging.
Jamie Reuben leaving QPR and not apparently having a new role anywhere else is the reason i think that the goal is a takeover, not just compensation for Ashley.
Getting everything in order, just in case, kinda thing.
