Very difficult not to conclude it very likely the EPL has chosen to protect the interests of the big six here rather than the interests of a lesser club, on purely financial grounds.

Four Champions League places. Man U and Liverpool, American owned and desperately dependent on the revenue generated by playing Champions League football, and now pushing for even greater control.

Obviously a very bad look for the EPL. They will eventually need to speak, or compromise.

    lesh,
I accidentally turned in to talksport. Two ex players talking about how The Bruce likes to play attacking football. Incredible!

There are five main stages to the arbitration process: (i) initial pleadings; (ii) panel selection; (iii) scheduling; (iv) discovery; (v) trial prep; and (vi) final hearing.

Yeah, I’d agree. I’ve long believed that if Ashley and PIF stay the course, it’ll happen.

If Cabbage Heed gets us relegated then we ain’t in the EPL then the Saudis can buy us and we can then win another trophy and join the EPL when crowds are allowed again in 2022/23 season. What’s the fuss all about!

I really don’t want to get my hopes up again, the way I’m feeling going through such a bad time. I’m with some of the older poster’s, just looking back at the good times. I hope the PL get what they deserve. Trying hard not to get into all the hype. Let’s hope it happens, because the joy in football has gone.

This takeover is never going to happen. We hate Ashley but not as much as the rest of the world. Then apart from us, everyone else hates the Saudis and their pot of cash. No all those times that you were told as you were growing up that ‘good will overcome evil’, it’s a fecking lie as the world is a corrupt and shitty place and I’m afraid there is zero point in sugar coating this sad but true fact of life.

    North,

If that Telegraph story is genuine then the PIF and Saudi State issue must be part of the arbitration?

Not that we’ll ever find out though.

Ashley needs to ensure we don’t get anywhere near a relegation fight, ergo Brucey might get hoofed!

There is a part of me that would want it to go to court as opposed to some kind of settlement. I’d imagine if it was done out of court there’d be NDA’s all over the place to stop anything negative being revealed about the prem. Feels like after everything that’s happened and been said, everything should be revealed.

If the takeover is to happen if needs to be Jan at the latest, otherwise we run the risk of sleep walking into the Championship and any potential deal will be off as Ashley won’t drop his price and they won’t pay £300m for a championship club. Get it done!

Yeah, Bruce might get hoofed. He’s so focused on 40 points, that you sense we are in danger of grinding to a halt. Too scared of defeat to put his most talented 11 out. He’s under pressure, I get it, but 5311 isn’t gonna work. He needs attacking width.

    JohnReese,

I’d be kind of intrigued for it to be played out in court….would love to know what’s gone on behind the scenes.
However, I would imagine both parties probably don’t really want that.
