Newcastle played quite well last Friday night at Crystal Palace to get a 2-0 win.
We were fairly solid at the back with Karl Darlow again looking like a Premier League class goalkeeper, with some good saves.
But our Man of the Match was Joelinton, who has come in for some severe criticism from the fans, since he joined us for around £40M from Hoffenheim 18 months go.
He is not a natural goalscorer, and not worth his transfer fee at the moment.
But he combined very well with Callum Wilson, who is a natural striker and is a danger in the box for any opposing defense.
Steve Bruce played the team in a 4-4-2 formation on the night.
The two lads won the game for us with two goals in the last three minutes – they both scored and had an assist too.
It could even be that the two of them can forge a good partnership up-front this season – we certainly hope so.
Joelinton – showing improvement this season
This is what manager Steve Bruce has said about the Brazilian forward as reported in the Chronicle:
“I think any striker likes somebody alongside him.”
“We don’t see it very often these days. The way the game is played these days it’s all changed. He is certainly a handful.”
“The link-up play and a little bit of quality between him and Callum Wilson have got them both a goal and assist each.”
“There was a performance from him Joelinton”.
“Physically there was a performance from him and he is now getting used to playing in the Premier League.”
“Look he has to improve with his finishing.”
“He had the best opportunities for us on the night (at Crystal Palace).”
With our game at Aston Villa on Friday night being postponed yesterday because of the COVID-19 outbreak at the club, our next game is at home to West Brom on Saturday, 12th December.
That’s a crucial game we have to win.
Bruce may even start the same side that did well at Selhurst Park, and then the games will then come quick and fast.
[table “96” not found /]We will see if Joelinton and Wilson can build on their performance in the last game.
We hope so!

Oh that post, just seemed to me as though you were saying posters are only allowed to post so many continuously before you intervened , as though you were the blog police. I asked you if you were joking, you didn`t reply.

I am going to try the jab when they’re available.
At the tender age of 73, I’ve nowt to lose by having it but everything to gain. And I’ve covered the other base by having the flu jab.
The ones that worry me are the Novax campaigners. They want to do whatever they want and I’ve no problem with that – as long as they’re all shipped off to some remote island where they can’t harm us owld pharts.

Comment #6WLToon he basically says ‘I don’t know if it’s PIF or not as it’s private. If it is PIF you’d imagine the deal is done, but we don’t know if it’s them so we will have to wait and see’
Basically saying what everyone has already said about it lol

Kennedy provided his view on it when asked if this purchase had anything to do with the takeover.
He said: “There’s been lots of Twitter talk, it’s definitely got people interested, but these people are private, and we don’t know who they are.
“Could it be PIF? I would suggest if it [were] PIF, [and] I am not necessarily sure [that] it is, but imagine it [were], then you would think the deal was virtually done.
“I don’t believe that to be the case.
“So I think we will just have to wait and see how this one pans out.”

Of course I was joking, wtf is the matter with people. Do you honestly think that posting 1st 2nd 3rd, as entertaining as it is and an excellent read has a limit. I just happened to be waiting for wor lass outside a shop when I logged on and seen it, did you not see my post about the record of 20 being in the international break in 2015, do you think I know what the record is and when it was. What I do think is a disgrace is that anybody reading was going to let that thread go in to 20 upwards post of drivel before someone else left a comment.

Comment #9Trouble is with the young uns , they think they are immune to the virus, when they are not. There have been quite a few under 40`s have died from the virus, the youngest being only 18..
Depends what you mean by young uns.

Didn`t have a clue whether you were joking or not, you can`t tell what bloggers are thinking tbh.
It doesn`t bother me either way, just thought it a bit sad that someone`s life is dictated to by what a poster does on a blog.
The blog has been quiet lately for a few reasons, i think running feuds are one of the main reasons, people can`t be bothered with it.

Comment #13I don’t want to go into a deep covid conversation hole, but essentially age shouldn’t enter the conversation at all. Some are more vulnerable than others, we should all do what we can to minimise the risk for ourselves and others. That should be all there is to it really. You could be young, fit and have no health problems yet be asymptomatic and pass it to someone vulnerable unknowingly. We also don’t fully understand the virus yet, so even if you think it hasn’t done anything to you yet if you have had it, it could have lasting long term effects that negatively effect you. Be sensible and think wider than just ‘It won’t effect me much’ or ‘it’s only old people who need to worry’.

Silly me, here’s me thinking leaving a smiley face at the end of a post means you’re joking, maybe not, maybe best to start posts letting people know it’s a joke so as not to offend in this PC world we live in.
