Freddie Woodman made his 38th start in all competitions on his second loan spell with Swansea on Saturday. Woodman kept his 24th clean sheet of the season in a 1-0 win at Luton Town. Conor Hourihane got Swans off to a flying start with a goal on a break in the 3rd minute.
That was all Woodman and Swansea need as they were able to hold off Luton to pick up the three points. Freddie made some outstanding saves. None better than when he saved himself some blushes after a poor pass from the back landed went straight into the path of Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu. The midfielder hit it first time forcing Woodman into a dramatic save.
The win moves Swansea level on points with 2nd-placed Watford with a game in hand. They’re now unbeaten in their last four matches, over which they’ve gained 10 points.
Kelland Watts kept his streak of starting all matches for Plymouth alive in a 1-0 loss at Ipswich on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Pilgrims that was their fourth defeat on the trot and their fifth loss from the last six.
Plymouth are a streaky side this year. After losing six straight in November – December, they turned their season around with a 9-match unbeaten run. However, it’s gone south once again in March.
Tottenham’s promising striker Troy Parrott, now on loan with Ipswich after a spell at Millwall, grabbed the game’s only goal in the 4th minute. A horrific backpass by Adam Lewis
into the box had Parrott gather the ball, round the keeper, and slot it home.
Watts, who was recently nominated for February’s PFA League One Player of the Month award, had another solid outing for Plymouth. Kell had 105 touches, a key pass, 9 clearances, and 3 blocked shots in the loss. Plymouth have now fallen to 16th in League One.
Elias Sorensen has seen his playing time slowly dwindle over the past month at Almere City. The forward has become an impact sub of sorts recently not having started in the last 5 matches.
On Friday at FC Eindhoven, Elias came on in the 79th minute for Thomas Verheydt, who had scored twice in the match. Almere City were up 3-1 when Sorensen was brought on and that was the final score.
Almere City have dropped to 4th in the Dutch second-divison recently after spending much of the season in the 2nd spot. Both De Graafschap and NAC are on significant unbeaten runs and have overtaken them. Cambuur continue to lead the division which they have done for most of the season.

Comment #1Souness is another loser who likes to talk about what a tough job it was!
All he had to do was buy a good centre back and we had a quality team at the time but he spent a fortune and took us down to mid table!
The amount of managers we have gave the job who didn’t deserve a shot is unreal so many young promising managers who would love an opportunity to strut their stuff in the premier league and would dedicate themselves to it I look at Parker and think wow imagine we had a manager like that the way he conducts himself and the way he is getting his team to play is great to see!!
We get stuck with never beens like Bruce who can’t even be bothered to train 5 days in the week to improve

A flatworm parasite called Ribeiroia ondatrae infects several species of frogs just as they’re developing their limbs, causing an assortment of defects such as no legs or even multiple legs that jut out at weird angles from the frogs’ bodies scientists say

Comment #5It’s sweet how Jib and Mund have found each other again on twitter. Just 2 regular guys with no societal issues whatsoever, just chewing the fat. Surely first 2 names on anyone’s dinner party list. Who would Mund sit next to though, Adam or the vegan?

I had to check the date on your post in case I’d accidentally clicked on an old post they have on the pictures. That exact same reaction was said on here on the last chopperwatch.

So we probably need 4 wins from that. Aside from Man City there’s games we can win or grab a point from. But recent form suggests we are going down.
Murphy has to start vs Brighton, he can make something happen and is very direct. Tempted to start Carroll too with Murphy and Fraser providing crosses and the big fella linking up play for those two and Willock to support.
Carroll also gives us a defensive presence vs the likes of Dunk and Burn.

From earlier. Re Bruce, you said there are no Bruce supporters recently. SHU was two months ago and we were 10 points clear. I never mentioned there being any happy clappers left, I think that was the final straw for any of them. We all have our breaking point.

I was just saying they weren’t in management before us, and we weren’t responsible for finishing them off as Souness seems to think. Is that not true? Just because I like them and they did well at us, doesn’t mean I should pretend they were at the peak of their careers at the moment we employed them. I think Souness will include Bobby in that list although it was old age made him retire.

Comment #17Forget Chopper watch. I certainly have no interest in checking out the movement in Ashley’s chopper.
I have had two messages over the psychic airwaves.
1) Ashley’s helicopter is used by senior SD managers when needed. SD have a presence in the Team Valley.
2) Ashley rarely gets involved in Newcastle United affairs these days and has found little if any excuse to visit SJP or deal with football related matters

Comment #28I think you’ll find a lot of us will start to engage less in all matters relating to NUFC over the coming months. It’s a symptom of just giving up on the shit show. We are no longer proud of our club and none of us look forward to matches anymore. More a feeling of dread and apathy. I’m 59 and this is the first season ever I’ve been happy not to tune into the match to at least follow the score. I watch a film and check the score after full time.
Of course it could all change in a heartbeat but only with a good takeover.

i foresee us getting another 8 points. MAX.
we could get those points from any of the matches maybe even upsets. But still 8 points is the max i see.
question is, is 34 points enough?
i really think this is the season we go down.
