Bruce Makes Just Two Changes In Our Predicted Team For Spurs

This is the team I suspect Steve Bruce will name for Sunday’s match against Tottenham at St. James’ Park. It has two changes from the 3-0 defeat to Brighton two weeks ago.

During his press conference on Friday, Bruce asserted that Callum Wilson was likely another week away from a return. While he did say Allan Saint-Maximin could play a part, I can’t see the Frenchman starting just yet. Though having him available from the bench will be a boost.

The front three remains the same from Brighton. However, the extra two weeks for Almiron will hopefully help him produce a better performance. Ryan Fraser bagged two goals on international duty so maybe he can carry some of that confidence into this match.

Bruce seems determined to rely on experience so that’s why Jeff Hendrick could come in for the injured Isaac Hayden. It was Hendrick who replaced Hayden at Brighton. Until Bruce proves otherwise, it’s hard to predict he’ll hand one of the Longstaff brothers a chance.

The other change comes to the backline with Federico Fernandez making his return to the starting lineup after missing the last 12 games. He has been on the bench for the last three but was unable to unseat Ciaran Clark.

Bruce said there could be a change in formation for Sunday. However, I suspect Bruce is holding out for Wilson’s return. If the striker will be back next week, Bruce could be hesitant to do make too many changes this weekend.

You give froggy too much credit. In fairness he’s been consistent – so much so, I’ve learned to skim-read his posts and skip most of ’em.

But, for sure, some of froggy’s PR targets have been a tad bizarre and picking out Carltoon of all people…… well, that one takes the biscuit, astonishing to say the least.

As an aside, how have your Covid-rules ignoring neighbours been behaving? Have they been?

Three hours to go, and I’m off out to the pub for some darts, pool and then get sad when we kick off.

No Anti Government say no to Bregxit demos for me today.

I got tugged yesterday and just waiting to be taken aboard the ship to Botany Bay! I do so like cruises but hope the transporter’s not too full for this voyage.

And to add to my woes, the embarkation lounge management are screening MoTD – take it or leave it. That’s going to be mentioned in my post-trip Trustpilot feedback!

He’d picked Carltoon out once before and realising the error of his ways, back recalled. To do it a second time, well, that’s really inviting an extra-special walloping off the good lady.

As for your neighbours, keep well away, keep your distance. If they want to play fast and loose, it’s up to them.

Thanks for heads up on Ken Burns documentaries (might have seen some months ago ifthey are the ones Im thinking of)

Yeah being outside in sun this afternoon with family will be good for the soul …. and my blood pressure

Despite my worries I can’t help watching if in house – at least i won’t have a 200 mile round trip to endure as well

I recently got as a present an Amazfit watch ( cheaper but good version of Apple etc) as in 3rd lockdown as as wife has been getting around house a lot more i have been going out daily for 5 – 8 mile walks.

Clears the head and with music on earphones have enjoyed getting out.

The watch also measures heart rate amongst other rthings and I got a shock looking at the readings for the afternoon of the Southampton game – well 2cnd half as it was good in first half for some reason.

Didn’t dare look at it for Brighton game although i could feel it bouncing on my wrist

Accumulation- nominee for word of the day.

It seems to me that all we’ve accumulated are games played, and growing negative goal difference.

Sadly, not too many of those cheeky elusive 3 points for a win thingys.

Never mind, there’s always this afternoon to try and chase down the little buggers. 🙂
