Newcastle Against Tottenham – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Poll Result

This is the team we are predicting Steve Bruce will name for this afternoon’s match against Tottenham. It has two changes from the defeat to Brighton two weeks ago.

Bruce may not want to make any changes to the formation with Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson so close to returning. While Saint-Maximin may play a part today, Wilson will hopefully be back next Sunday at Burnley.

I suspect it’ll be Jeff Hendrick to come in for the injured Isaac Hayden. Bruce could also bring Federico Fernandez back into the team after not featuring in the last 12 matches.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has almost a full squad at his disposal with just the two fullbacks injured on international duty ruled out for this match.

Newcastle Injuries

Callum Wilson (hamstring), Fabian Schar (knee), Isaac Hayden (knee), Allan Saint-Maximin (groin – late fitness test), Martin Dubravka (illness – late fitness test)

Tottenham Injuries

Ben Davies (muscle), Matt Doherty (muscle)

Our poll for this match has fans not expecting much once again. Almost 80% think Newcastle will lose this afternoon. Based on recent results, that is a fair assumption.

Fulham travel to face Aston Villa just after today’s match. So if Newcastle lose and Fulham win, we’ll be in the bottom three tonight.

Hopefully, that won’t be the case but in order to make it a certainty, Newcastle need to pick up an unlikely three points at St. James’ Park today.

I just caught that post about Mund and his twitter
Moments before Neil had it flushed down the sh*tter
A ‘mental health activist’ how can this be?
Giving advice to others? That just sounds cra-zy

Tho’ I have to commend him for raising awareness
Respect where it’s due, it’s a good thing in all fairness
He even invites DM’s for those feeling low
But is reaching out to Mund the right way to go?

You have to feel bad for some poor tortured soul
In a dark, hopeless place who can’t escape from the hole
Trapped in despair and feels his only way out
Is to log into twitter and give Mund a shout!

Lesh……. You said you got tugged yesterday. Who was responsible for that may I ask.?

You’re probably better off in Botany Bay for a while to get some respite from this madness.
Apparently Boris is due to announce next week that Big Issue sellers will no longer be allowed to work from home!!

I’ve just read there’s a chance pubs might open sooner
Matt Hancock’s up at the Supreme Court with a case brought from pubs
Has to explain why they arnt open but shops are , they want to see the scientific evidence they crack on about

I’ll be appalled if Joelinton and Hendrick play.

I’d be happy to see AC, Murphy and Jonjo in the team.

Did a lot of comment skipping to get up to date and I had a mental picture of the Harrisons clutching their heads in frustration at the constant point scoring, about time it stopped and I mean really stopped, not a brief hiatus as ego’s were readied to start afresh.

And yes we all hate Ashlie and TFG and know they need to go but I don’t need reminding over and over and over and over and over and over and over!

Please feel free to ignore this comment but I feel better for it. 🙂

Good day to all, it`s a beautiful day , pity the Lakes isn`t open to foreigners.

I`m looking forward to the game though it will be with great trepidation.
It seems that Hendrick and Shelvey will be starting if so then my hopes of 3 points are gone.
They have constantly proved that together , they are the weakest CM pairing in the PL.
The first 15 minutes will determine how Bruce views this game imo, i hope we go for it from the start, though with Toot n Ploot in CM i very much doubt it.

Hancock in court explaining why pubs aren’t open and shops are.
I would think it’s obvious to anyone sensible. We need food from shops and much as I would love pubs open, we are safer without until everyone is vaccinated and there’s no more deaths!
Groups getting pi$$ed in pubs won’t help!

    Mund,

    Is it bollix.

All I’m referring to in a light hearted way is that if someone was suffering there are better places to go for help than your twitter.

I even commended you for raising awareness.

The pubs are arguing they are far less likely to pass on infections
They’ve got the science to back em too

Im sure Mr H can explain himself

I agree the pubs should be open, if supermarkets can cram customers in, and in many cases with less organisation and social distancing in place, then i think Hancock has a good case.
My local for example, was spot on with the social distancing rules and there were never any problems with customers adhering to them.

Personally I can’t see why not
All people over 50 will have the vax by the end of the month
    They are protected
It’s the reason they went into lockdown in the first place
If they arnt protected why bother vaccinating people

Once the vaccines have been dished out to one and all there should be no problems at all , erm, well that is the plan. Lets see how many other strains develop over the coming months to totally scupper hopes of life getting back to some sort of normality.
