Bruce Makes One Change In Our Predicted Team For Arsenal

This is the team I think Steve Bruce will name for Sunday’s match against Arsenal. It has just one change from the draw at Liverpool with Callum Wilson coming in for Joelinton.

Steve Bruce is unlikely to make many significant changes in the midst of this current run. So he’ll likely deploy the 5-3-2 system once again with much the same team that snatched a point at Anfield.

Last weekend, Bruce made no changes to the team. It paid off with the unexpected draw against Liverpool. This time around, the only change I can envision is Callum Wilson coming in for Joelinton.

During his press conference on Friday, Bruce said Wilson was ready to start and referenced his explosive runs against Liverpool. While it may be harsh to drop Joelinton, Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are a lethal front two who should be starting together when fully fit.

Bruce may be forced into another change with Matt Ritchie having suffered a slight calf injury. However, Bruce indicated that the wing-back should be ok and did participate in yesterday’s training session.

With Joe Willock unavailable against his parent club, the tough decision to keep the midfielder on the bench has been taken out of Bruce’s hands for this week. So it’s just the one change with Wilson returning to the starting eleven for what would be the first time in close to three months.

Ah, OK, cheers for the info, I’d like to see Jack Young training with the 1st team as well, I think he could be our next big hopeful after Anderson.

Is also Captain of the U23s.

Harry Kane has 24 penalties to his name.

Wilson has played for Bournemouth and Newcastle. Not known for creating much

I think that line up is our best at the moment Neil. But I would like to see St.Max play a bit deeper on the wing and give our midfield a diamond look, with Almiron in what I think is his best position. Could allow Maximin to work his magic.

Also, do others think that Wilson is best when he works the channels? Before his injury, I felt he was given free rein to wander in areas that made him more dangerous. But then, what the hell do I know, LOL.

Anyway, too nice a day too remain inside here, so see everyone tonight or at least tomorrow for the match. Be well all!!!

If you get the gardening finished early folks it’s BHA v Leeds at 3pm.

It’s on APV that’s Amazon Prime Video (all that free delivery and footie)

Nothing to do with PVA, that’s polyvinyl acetate or wood glue to most.

I think with player’s goals the number of penalties should be in brackets.
And saying you have to score them is ludicrous.
It’s not your goal somebody got it for you.
Also shearer and liniker said goals in penalty shootouts should count.
    Seriously.

Also got to take into account Wilson has played under Bruce for about 10 games
In a row he got the ball hoofed up to him sometimes not even getting a chance provided

Then it looked like we might actually start to play football and he got a double against Everton before getting injured

Him Almiron ASM Fraser and Willock in an attacking setup would score loads of goals and create for each other a 4231 would do it

Last weeks unused subs were Hendrick, Manquillo, Krafth, Carroll and Lewis. If there were ayny changes to the above side, which of those players would be expected to gain a start in an otherwise settled side?

    JAF,

Not every penalty awarded is created by someone other than the striker, plenty of occasions a striker has been brought down and awarded a pen, then taken it.

Who would be the better striker..

Man City getting close to lifting the EPL trophy!

For me, given the way they play the game, comparative humble past and their likeable head coach, they are the least offensive of the G6.

Leicester would be another more acceptable choice but they are still a work in progress.

Oh for the days when NUFC were the people’s choice to upset the apple cart. 🙁

    JAF,

Bit of a daft scenario but the goals from open play would get more credit obviously.
Penalties play a big part in most strikers goal tally so it is a bit of a pointless argument.
I would say though that a striker in a top team will get awarded more pens than someone like Wilson who plays in a shite team.
My original point was about Wilson being a good striker for us, pens had nothing to do with it

on average 2 or 3 penalties are awarded every round of matches in the Premier league and 4 out of 5 are scored. easy goals.

If Rogers says at Leicester i think they will be up there for a couple of seasons at least, and at the expense of one of the greedy 6,, probably the Arse.
I`d like to see Everton kick Spuds and Levy into touch next season anarl.
Il`e not mention us in that mix, pointless atm.

You have to have some bottle to take a penalty, we’ve been fairly lucky, as we have had a few great penalty takers, Wilson, Richie, Shearer, Solano, and of course Shola, who never missed in a toon shirt.

In all the years of going to matches, i never watch the penalty, and always turn around. The one against ManC. Taken by Richie, we had to wait about five minutes, as they tried to waste time. But the result was worth the wait.
