Report – Championship Club Win Race For Young Striker Bruce Wanted In Early

The Magpies have been on the trail of Wigan striker Kyle Joseph for months. It was back in early April that Newcastle’s interest in the young prospect was first revealed.

The 19-year-old is out of contract this summer and at the time, Newcastle were trying to convince him that his future was on Tyneside. We were even willing to shell out a little extra in compensation to seal the deal.

Newcastle were consistently said to be leading the race until last week, when it emerged that Swansea were in talks for the Scotland U21 international. Now it looks like the youngster will head to the Liberty Stadium next month after his contract expires.

Football Insider is reporting that Swansea have won the race for Jospeh and will pay £1m in compensation to Wigan. They have also reached an agreement on personal terms.

The size of the compensation fee may have played a role in Newcastle missing out on the striker. In April, it was reported Newcastle were offering £850k.

It also appears that Swansea will give Joseph first-team football this upcoming season while Newcastle had him pegged as one for the future. With the Academy being gutted last week, this news, if accurate, is a blow as the cupboard is not exactly brimming with attacking prospects.

Both Celtic and Rangers were also in for Joseph, who scored 5 goals in 14 League One appearances before a serious back injury sidelined him in late January. He was identified, along with Kristoffer Ajer, as a player to get in early this summer. Now it appears that we’ve missed out on the promising youngster.

Take your time and don’t worry about picking the two castaways up. MBS’ll send his yacht to the rescue.

So Bein have fought off the Saudi`s for the World Cup, even though it is rumoured their bid wasn`t anywhere near the amount the Saudi`s put forward.
Lets stick with who you know then, these Saudi`s are dodgy footers apparently, and it appears sometimes money doesn`t always talk.
I bet Bein were shitting themselves , along with Hairy hands, at the thought the Saudi`s might get one over them.
Football is one of the most corrupt sports in the world, no doubt about it, and that is why i am not taking anything for granted with this TO toomfoolery, because that is exactly what it is.

Rom, you’ll need a clubcard else it’s £1.75 a bottle, times are hard and that extra 75p nearly buys you an extra bottle. Just something for you to think on whilst you’re smoking them Cubans.

Hahahahaha! Hilarious. So we probably tried to lowball Wigan and wasted their time for a few days and then they got a serious offer. Well done Lee Chumpley and friends!

He’s only 19 and would probably have never made it to the first team anyway. I sound like sour grapes don’t I? Right then, who’s next on the purchase list Mikey? Have your offer worked out including free SD trash and begging speech before you contact the next club. PS: they hate it when you cry during the offer Lee.

WLtoon, yes Bein did get one over the Saudis, this time, but as I look into my crystal ball, give them a couple of years and the Saudis will monopolise the sports world events etc…imo. I really think they are that focused on becoming top sponsorship dogs in the sports world, only time tell….

Well, if Bruceyboy really did want Joseph signed early, it’s clear his efforts have been wasted.

Charnley and Ashley are supposed to be one for backing his employees and if that’s the case, they’ve shown Bruceyboy how supportive they really are. He’s been royally stuffed.
