As reported yesterday, Swansea City have won the race for Wigan striker Kyle Jospeh. The Championship club have today confirmed the signing of the promising 19-year-old for an undisclosed fee. Joseph’s contract with Wigan was due to expire at the end of the month.

Joseph, who will turn 20 in September, has signed a four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium. He had been with Wigan since he was 13 and broke into the Latics’ first-team last season scoring 5 goals.
Newcastle had been linked with the Scotland U19 international since April. However, Swansea have swooped in and captured the young striker as their first signing of the summer.
In other Swansea news, Freddie Woodman is up for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award for the Championship. Woodman is the only goalkeeper of the six nominees with the other five being forwards. The list also includes former Magpies Adam Armstrong (Blackburn) and Ivan Toney (Brentford).
The other players in contention for the award are Norwich duo Emiliano Buendia and Teemu Pukki, and Cardiff City’s Kieffer Moore. Incidentally, Buendia became Aston Villa’s record signing with his £33m from Carrow Road to Villa Park yesterday.
You can vote for Freddie or any other of the nominees here.

And this lad was one Bruceyboy reportedly wanted in early?
So much for his special relationship with Ashley and the support he likes to give to compliant staff.

Comment #2Repost – the bus pulled out just as I’d posted. I need a drink!

I’d suggest that that tweet is doing nothing other than saying what we already expected – that the EPL will submit its arguments for the claim to be thrown out.
And his reference to ‘detailed submissions and supporting evidence. Key test of PL’s legal case to avert the high-stakes airing in public …’ is saying that they do not want to have to defend the claim because it’s held in open court – too much at stake.
We can but wait for developments

Comment #3Quite significant that three out of the six nominees are either ex or present NUFC players. We must be doing something right, but how could we have allowed the two ace championship goal scorers to slip through our hands ?

Comment #5It’s interesting that Bruceyboy’s been warned off going for Choudury as he’s seen to be too similar to Bruceyboy’s other gem of a signing – Hendrick.
Tunnel vision? An imagination like a caravan site or just clueless?

Comment #20Mag52 hindsight is a wonderful thing, but in truth we never give our young players a chance, or we’re always in a relegation battle, where we’re not in a position to bring them on, look at the Longstaffs, they haven’t been handled at all well, a!ways just pushed into the deep end, and left to flounder.

”According to the Claim, by virtue of its position of dominance, the Defendant has a special
responsibility to exercise its powers as a gatekeeper in a fair, objective and non-discriminatory manner and,
in particular, not to exercise those powers for an ulterior commercial motive. Irrespective of its position of
dominance, the exercise by the Defendant of its powers under the Rules by excluding new owners .”
I would say that the prem had an ulterior commercial motive in that they protected Bein and pandered to them when it came to KSA and BEINs dislike and chequered history between the countries and for fear of Bein dropping out of the contract in paying billions for premiership football and the cartel of the so called top six by not making it a top seven to protect the income of said top six, in other words they have acted beyond their remit on competition Law and with that broke the rules.

The latest word is EPL are considering trying to keep things private & fight the public airing of this action. I wonder why if they have nothing to hide? Can you recall them meeting NUST & saying they’d happily have it in the open? BS & brevado. Tick Tock Alarm clock #NUFC #NUFCTakeover

Comment #37The Prem will not want this anti competition action going public and the Cat tribunal can do this ..One can watch on line.
If there has been any skullduggery at Prem HQ then there is a chance of it being aired for all to see.
Because of that there is the possibility that the Prem will concede and with that pass the takeover and agree a compensation fee with Ashley .
The Premier League will seriously not want this aired, revealing how they pandered to Bein and the so called top six cartel.
And while Im here iv never ever heard of a case where the Criminals or transgressors of any Laws or rules get to negotiate their own punishment or penalty.
The Prem are still at it with the top Six (dont make me laugh) ..Govt needs to step in as the prem and the bankrupt (Morally Bankrupt) so called top six are a blatant cartel and are in cahoots.
Would a £10 million pound fine be ok with each of you sneaky ESL breakaway clubs ?
Oh dear me ..can you make that £3 million each and we will give it to grass roots football in our neighbourhood and we will benefit by hoovering up all of the players that come through as per usual.
oK then ..coming to the Christmas do ?
Yes , as usual . Psst’ dont tell the other 14 clubs..keep them in the dark .
