Newcastle Take 2-1 Lead Into The Break At Doncaster In Front Of 3,000 Fans

Newcastle were much improved in the first half at Doncaster this evening from last weekend. The Magpies took a 2-0 lead through Ryan Fraser and Sean Longstaff before Rovers brought one back.

The lads were set up in a 5-3-2 with Hayden, Lascelles, and Dummett as the back three. Murphy and Lewis were the wing-backs with Sean Longstaff and Hendrick in the midfield. Fraser was behind Wilson and Saint-Maximin upfront.

3,000 Newcastle fans made the trip and made their presence felt.

Newcastle took the lead in the 12th minute on a low strike from Ryan Fraser, who cut in from the left to fire a shot past Louis Jones in the Doncaster goal.

Newcastle doubled the lead with a goal from Sean Longstaff in the 24th minute. It started from Allan Saint-Maximin leaving right-back Kyle Knoyle done and dusted. The Frenchman then played the ball into the box and after a deflection found a sliding Sean Longstaff, who poked it in from close range.

Doncaster soon brought one back through Tommy Rowe. A trialist took a long effort that Dan Langley got a hand to but it landed in the path of Rowe, who was able to slot the rebound home to make it 2-1.

This was a decent performance with Allan Saint-Maximin once again terrorizing the opponent’s defense. We’ll see if Bruce makes any changes at half-time but hopefully, some of the young guns will get on the pitch at some point in the second half.

Don’t go long Magscar, one of the better posters here.

I’m not sure if the Wife directly rapped Jailbird for his outrageous Irish city centre bombers comment, don’t think so.

Hopefully I’m incorrect, otherwise its a remarkable case of looking away whilst the spoilt one does what he likes, backed up by a diminishing group now, thankfully.

I have hazy memories of a stag ‘do’ many years ago at Doncaster, afternoon at the races (The Lincoln, traditionally the first flat of the season?) then a messy power drinking session around the town, first nightclub/bar I’d been in that was converted from a church! Heathens them Yorkshire folk I tell ya!

    😆

Jail, i havnt looked at it yet, what is it and where can i join..

and on the drinking/prices,, you know its not that bad over here for those who drink, my wife earns about 20 pound an hour working in a supermarket, with 1 hours pay she can buy 2 pints in stavanger, im guessing Asda pay about 10 pound an hour, which will be about 2 pints in the big market. same same..

thing like Electronics, Furniture are dirt cheap in comparison to the uk, there about 15% more expensive over here.

Bit dramatic on here tonight, jeez. Be thankful to those who made the blog possible and take in what they say, bit mad to start having a go at the very people who are responsible for the blog even existing. We’re all adults.

but on the Flip side, Cars are crazy expensive to have, start of 2 times the price, then as they get older, they hold there value, i bought a mondeo a few years ago, i could have bought 5 identical ones in Newcastle for the money i paid for it.

Sorry catchy should have said, it’s the same team as your main league team except you’re pitted against another blogger in a three points for a win. With twenty teams everyone plays each other twice. Ten teams promoted ten teams relegated, but if we hit the magic number I’m going to introduce a play off if Scythe approves it.

    Agreed.

However, creating the blog doesn’t in itself keep the blog fruitful. More could be done. There’s a very colourful fanbase here, clashes are bound to happen, the nature of the game, we’re a passionate lot!

It is my opinion that Jail has always been a bit of an annoyance to many on here.

It is my opinion that The Wife’s involvement on the blog, actively engaging, whilst wholesome and often lovely has blurred the lines a bit. With power comes great responsibility!

Again, these are just my opinions, please do not delete me.
