Magpie Pictured On Crutches After Latest Injury Setback

It was announced earlier on Monday that Ryan Fraser had been pulled from the Scotland squad ahead of tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier at Austria. Scotland manager Steven Clarke has now confirmed that Fraser picked up a knock in a training saying the following as published in The Shields Gazette:

“Unfortunately, Ryan Fraser picked up a knock in training which, again with the short turnaround, just means there’s no point in taking him. He wouldn’t be ready for the game.”

Clarke’s reference to a ‘knock’ is in stark contrast to a photograph talkSPORT has just put out on Twitter. The below image shows Ryan in a walking boot and on crutches with an injury to his lower right leg.

This does not look good at all for the 27-year-old, who has struggled with fitness and injuries since joining Newcastle as a free agent last summer. Fraser missed the final few months of last season after picking up a groin injury while away with Scotland in March.

Fraser needed surgery for his groin injury and ended up missing the final nine matches of the campaign. From the image above, it looks like he’s facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

We have always had injuries under the cheap and nasty Z lister cr-p managers Ashley employs and Souness before and yes the facilities are archaic for a big club but we were virtually injury free for 3 years under Rafa.

Saw a clip of bruce in pitch fever last night. God he really is thick as …. . Couldn’t even manage to reply to a question, you could almost see the cogs going round . Wenger has 5 degrees, did bruce even get a gcse?

Seems like Ashley has resigned himself to the club being relegated this season and is pruning the staff and wage bill in advance.

I think when I asked yesterday nobody could give an answer, but does anyone actually know if Bruce has gone on holiday? Or is it just a rumour that started on twitter or something and spread? I wouldn’t put it past him just bugging off to Portugal when we’ve had a terrible start, but is there any kind of confirmation or good source to back the story up?

According to this Ronaldo might not be able to play on Saturday (although it originates from the Sun so not sure how much truth there is in it?)

Yeah I think i’ve seen one photo but couldn’t tell if it was genuine or an old one. Like I say it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, just not sure whether it’s 100% true at the moment.

All those that tried to justify Bruce because he got similar finishes to Rafa just couldn’t or wouldn’t see the bigger picture. I remember Rafa saying a 75/80% success rate in the transfer market is a great job. What is the success rate under Bruce 15/20%?

I was delighted when we signed Wilson, and also when we signed Fraser. Although his shenanigans with Bournemouth told us what sort of a person he was, I thought he was exactly the right sort of player for us. Bitter experience has taught me what a waste of space Fraser is, and the sooner he can be persuaded to push off out of it, the better. What a (con man; failure; sh*t : you choose) he is.
