Newcastle And Other Affected Premier League Clubs Working To Have Player Bans Overturned

While we wait on an injury update from Steve Bruce on Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, it appears that Miguel Almiron will not be available for the Manchester United match on Saturday.

The Northern Echo is reporting that Newcastle have been informed by FIFA that a ban is in place for Almiron after he was not released for international duty with Paraguay. Manchester United midfielder Fred has also been banned as he was not allowed to link up with the Brazilian squad for this international break.

Other Brazilians that are also unavailable this weekend are Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, and Allison, Manchester City duo Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, and Leeds attacker Raphinha.

Wolves forward Raul Jimenez (Mexico) and Watford defender Francisco Sierralta (Chile) are also set to miss this weekend’s games. Newcastle and their Premier League counterparts are working in concert to have the bans overturned.

Almiron has started Newcastle’s first three Premier League matches. If he remains ineligible this weekend, it is likely Sean Longstaff will get his second straight Premier League start. Jeff Hendrick could also be an option after his excellent performance in the Carabao Cup.

Steve Bruce will be without Jonjo Shelvey and Martin Dubravka, who continue their recovery from long-term injuries. Callum Wilson’s availability remains unknown after a thigh injury forced an early exit against Southampton.

The outlook for Ryan Fraser doesn’t look promising at all. The winger was withdrawn from the Scotland squad after suffering an injury in training. He was spotted on crutches with a protective boot on his right leg on Monday.

It could be good news on Karl Darlow, who has reportedly recovered from his bout with Covid and could be available on Saturday. Bruce didn’t risk Isaac Hayden or Paul Dummett against The Saints. The pair have had an additional two weeks to recover and should also be ready to go this weekend.

Someone mention earlier about the public sale, I know it’s on line but are those tickets open to anyone. There was bother there that night in the Championship when a few Leeds fans somehow got in to the East stand and that tw@t ran on to the pitch at the end and got all the added time in which Chris Wood equalised.

    Jail
Used to be season ticket holders first dibs on spare tickets, then members, then public. Never used to end up with a public sale so we must be scraping the barrel now.

    onmeedsun,
There’s been public sales for a good while now but not where away fans would exceed limits. The Lpool one in Rafas last game did but that most definitely wasn’t a public sale but Ashley/Churnley selling corporate 1892 tickets to Lpool supporters at massive cost only to see shit loads of trouble. This one on a Friday night will definitely attract more than 3K Leeds fans so it’s going to be horrible if they’re all over the stadium.

Slightly off footy for a minute, but you have to witness the sheer unbridled joy that Emma Radacanu plays tennis with. What sport is all about. Just hope she is able to retain her youthful enthusiasm and is not dumped on by our press once they’ve had their fill.

Poland v England is not a bad game, Grealish is a very good player, but as far as iam concerned the guy is a cheat, he would win a gold medal in the olympics for diving, its really embarrassing.

In other news Wor B scored a very impressive 69 today at crazy golf, although his young lad weighed in with a 65, Wor B was understandably not amused 😀

England failing to put early crosses in. Sterling beats his man then rather than deliver a cross with no pressure on him decides to give the player 2 more chances to tackle him. Over thinking going on. Never good for a footballer.

We are obviously gonna be in trouble without Wilson, who is a genuine EPL number 9, but Joel is actually the better footballer. It will only be a dreadful watch if St Max plays too deep, he needs to be in support of Joel up top.

We’ll almost certainly get beat, but it’ll only be really ugly on the eye, if Joel is left isolated up top. We need to not drop too deep, and stay compact. We might get a hiding, on the other hand, we might just make for decent opposition.

If he’s just gonna leave one man up top, and defend in numbers, and deep, I’d rather Gayle be the one to be sacrificed, and it will be shit.

My 11, if Wilson isn’t fit.

    …………………..Woodman.
    ………Lascelles…Fede…Dummett.
    Manq…………….Hayden………….Lewis.
    …………Willock…St Max….Sean.
    ……………………Joelinton.

    magicmac54,
As you well know I am a big advocate for the prevention of cheating in games. If Joey Barton can rightly get retrospectively banned for three games for punching that Blackburn player in the stomach that the ref missed then surely a player can be booked for diving/clutching their face after a push on their back/etc. I think you are being too harsh on Grealish, he genuinely gets kicked and is sent down. If he was continually diving refs wouldn’t let him get away with it.

Grealish has been guilty a few times of what looks like a dive. But 99% of the time it’s just clever play and footwork, he lures the player in to make a challenge and shifts the ball at the last second so they catch him instead. I’m all for clamping down harder on diving, but with Grealish I think it’s more down to he’s just very clever and quick with his feet to draw in fouls.

Have the Brazilian FA kidnapped Bruce because he refused to release Miggy?

Ashley won’t pay the ransom, so Bruce is going to Copa Cabana to chill.

Rumour starting up on Twitter of a new takeover bid by Indian billionaire Ambani, who’s brother Emile attempted to buy the club in 2008. All unconfirmed rumours at the moment though, so wait and see if it gets any traction or settles down in the next 24 hours.

Your positivity didn`t last for long lol, only teasing it actually wasn`t a bad match, and both teams scored cracking goals, how in the name of God does that Prickford get picked for England, there is no way in my opinion is he the best English keeper, i think he is the weak link in your team, take it easy on the wine tonight 😀 😀

In reference to your post about Grealish i very respectfully disagree, for me he is a cheat, iam not saying he doesn`t get fouled a lot in matches, but as far as iam concerned he really milks it and goes to ground at the blink of an eyelid, but sure hi, its only my opinion, its quite healthy to express different opinions mate.

    magicmac54,
I was at the game when we came from behind 0-2 after he saved a penalty and we won 3-2, the grief he got off the crowd and despite saving a pen the shite we gave him clearly affected his performance 😀 Dean Henderson is a better keeper and Southgate needs to make that decision, that flapping from Pickford at the end clearly affected the whole team.

Jail everytime i watch Prickford he comes across as an accident waiting to happen, he always looks so worked up and he clearly is not cool and calm and confident, England have a very strong team but i honestly think he is the weak link in the England team.
